Oral pre-exposure HIV prophylaxis (PrEP) has been shown to be up to 90% effective in preventing HIV infection among people who take it consistently. However, the United States of America is the only country in which PrEP is licensed and recommended for use within HIV prevention programmes.

KMWA through its efforts to enhance HIV prevention research and education is scheduled to have an Advocacy training for its members on Friday 10th October 2014. From 8:30am - 4:00pm. At Batians Peak,opposite Liverpool VCT center.off Argwings Kodhek road,Nairobi.

Objectives of the training
1. To update, deepen and broaden the understanding of female doctors on issues related to HIV prevention and Microbicides research specifically.
2. To update members of the on-going scientific developments in the area of HIV research and development in Kenya.
3. To give grounding on how KMWA members can engage with policy makers regarding microbicides.
4. To sensitize KMWA members on advocacy strategies, they need to disseminate this information.
