Sibling Workshop is Here!

Many of the siblings of children with disabilities take on caregiving roles at home, leaving little time for personal growth.

SEP provides siblings of children with disabilities a supportive and engaging space to connect, express themselves, and enjoy age-appropriate activities.

This year’s program also aims to raise awareness among parents and the community about the challenges these siblings face.

SEP, in collaboration with Dorcas Creation , conducted a women empowerment training at Nziu where participants were equipped with practical skills in cake baking and yogurt making to help them start income generating activities and build sustainable livelihoods.

These trainings pave the way for economic independence and community self reliance.

Caregivers Workshop at The Njeri Maria Foundation

Caregivers came together to learn about the various causes of disability and how to better manage and support children with disabilities in their daily lives.

Through shared experiences and practical learning, they gained valuable knowledge to promote inclusion, care, and empowerment within their communities. The session was lead by our Occupation Therapis Kelvin Kahianyu

Workshop on Cognitive Stimulation

SEP held an engaging workshop at Dorcas Creation where 23 caregivers came together to learn, share, and practice techniques that boost children’s thinking and learning abilities.

The session was full of energy, laughter, and hands-on demonstrations with caregivers teaching and inspiring one another!

Therapy Intervention in Elparako

Through our Wezesha program, our multidisciplinary team bring essential services directly to the children many of whom would otherwise have no access to care due to distance, cost, or lack of awareness.

The impact is profound. Children who once struggled to sit, stand, or move are now achieving developmental milestones. Families who once felt isolated are now part of a community that understands, supports, and advocates for their children.

Dear readers, This newsletter begins end of May, when a small SEP team travelled to Somaliland for capacity building at the Ubad Gagaar Centre. This was our second visit — an opportunity to build on previous efforts, encourage implementation, and deepen impact.
