Redefining Nutrition Advice
The mainstream understanding of nutrition is overdue for an update. Decades of advice centered on calorie-counting and reducing 'dangerous' fats have left us with more questions than answers.
🍔 We've been conditioned to fear certain foods - red meat, eggs, dairy. But these foods are nutrient-dense powerhouses, the very foods our ancestors thrived on. Instead, we're sold on processed 'low-fat' substitutes, with nutrients stripped away.
🥑 The narrative that calories are the root of our health problems is flawed. Not all calories are created equal. It's not just about energy intake, but the QUALITY of that energy. Calories from protein, vitamins, minerals, essential fats = GOOD.
·
🍞 Unfortunately, 'empty' calories dominate the modern diet. Refined grains, sugars, and fats contribute to energy overload without providing the nutrients we need. This leads to a cycle of constant hunger, overeating, and ultimately, disease.
·
⚖️ Yes, being overweight is a significant health risk. But focusing solely on weight overlooks the dangers of visceral fat, which can afflict thin individuals too. It's a silent consequence of a poor diet, high in empty calories.
·
💔 The real villain? Insulin resistance. It's the harbinger of most chronic diseases and is directly related to diet. But the spotlight rarely falls on it. We're told to count calories, but what about managing our insulin response?
·
🌽 It's a grim irony: the very diet advice touted as 'healthy' – low-fat, high-carb, calorie-counting – has led to an epidemic of insulin resistance. We've swapped nutrient density for energy density, and our health has paid the price.
·
💪 A healthy diet isn't a war against your body. You can't fight hunger with willpower alone. Winning the health battle involves embracing satiating, nutrient-dense foods. It's about the right nutrients, not just fewer calories.
🌱 We need to redefine our understanding of nutrition. It's time to champion a diet that emphasizes whole foods and nutrient density over processed, energy-dense foods. Long-term health is not about deprivation, but nourishment.

🥩 We evolved eating nutrient-rich foods like red meat, seafood, eggs, dairy. It's time we return to these roots and dismiss the fear-mongering around them. Remember, it's not just about energy. It's about the nutrients
