Hawi Global Foundation Concludes Successful Medical Camp and Feeding for Nairobi’s Street Families
Nairobi, Kenya.Hawi Global Foundation is proud to announce the successful conclusion of our recent medical camp and feeding initiative for Nairobi’s street families, held at Hon Michuki Memorial Park on August 22, 2024. This event, in commemoration of World Humanitarian Day, provided essential healthcare services and nutritious meals to over 400 vulnerable individuals, including men, women, and children who call the streets of Nairobi their home.
This initiative underscores our ongoing commitment to bridging the healthcare gap for the most vulnerable in our society. We were able to offer comprehensive medical services, including general medicine, laboratory tests, pharmacy services, health education, and specialist consultations. In addition, each participant and whoever walked in received a meal and bringing hope and comfort to many who face daily hardships.
We are deeply grateful to all those who made this event possible:
- Dada Rides: Your unwavering support and leadership in the ongoing 10,000 km cycling challenge from Nairobi to Mombasa and back has been nothing short of inspiring. Your dedication to creating awareness about the health gaps and vulnerabilities faced by street families is commendable.
- Nairobi County Government: Your partnership and support in facilitating the event at Hon Michuki Memorial Park were instrumental in its success.
- Highland Waters: Thank you for ensuring our participants stayed hydrated and healthy throughout the day with your generous provision of water.
We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the individual donors, volunteers, healthcare professionals, and partners who contributed their time, resources, and expertise to make this event a success. Your generosity and compassion have touched the lives of many and continue to be the cornerstone of our mission to provide ‘Health with Humanity.’
The journey does not end here. Our riders under Dada Rides are in the midst of a 10,000 km challenge, striving to complete this extraordinary feat within 45 hours. Their efforts aim to raise further awareness and funds for our ongoing project to establish a Medical Centre dedicated to serving the most vulnerable in our society. This center will be a beacon of hope for those who are often forgotten, ensuring that they receive the care and support they so desperately need.
