Nutrition care for elevated triglycerides
Specific Foods to increase
- Beans - study shows eating 1/2 cup cooked beans daily for 3wks reduce triglycerides in the blood by 10%
- Onion - both raw, onion water reduce triglycerides level and protect the blood vessel
- Guava - regularly eating them reduces triglycerides and hypertension levels
- Wheatgerm - daily consumption of 20-30g for 4 months reduce triglycerides by 11%
- omega 3 fatty acid - found in fish oil, flax & Chia seeds and omega 9 - avocados, olive oil & nuts with skins produce a reduction of upto 30% in blood triglycerides levels

- Fat in meats, processed meats such as sausages
- Fructose (processed fruit juice) & sugar
- frying and deep frying foods
- foods without fiber (little intake of vegetables, white flour foods)
