Today we proudly raised the banner high for Medi compression stockings at the World lymphoedema day celebration at Kenyatta National Hospital

We engaged patients and healthcare professionals on the importance of proper assessment and the right compression therapy in managing lymphoedema.

If you know someone experiencing persistent swelling or heaviness, invite them for a free lymphoedema check-up and compression assessment. Early care makes a difference.

Did you know? Water is basically a natural compression stocking!

Prof. Sergio Gianesini tells us:
For every centimetre of water depth, your body receives pressure. So when you’re standing in waist-deep water, your legs can experience up to 80 mmHg of natural compression, similar to wearing a medical-grade compression stocking.

The right wheelchair affects posture, pressure management, independence, productivity, and long-term health outcomes.

Appropriate seating, correct measurements, terrain considerations, long-term comfort, and pressure management are not small details. They are the difference between dependence and participation.

Access to appropriate mobility is what truly changes lives. And that is the standard we continue to work toward.

Too often, patients seek care when swelling has already advanced. Yet Lymphoedema is a progressive condition, and early detection makes all the difference.

Stage 0 (Latent Stage): The lymphatic system is already affected, but there is no visible swelling yet.
Stage 1: Swelling appears but may reduce with rest or elevation.
Stage 2: Swelling becomes persistent and does not resolve on its own. The tissue may start to feel firm.
Stage 3: Advanced lymphoedema with significant swelling and skin changes.

Join us from 4th–6th at Kenyatta National Hospital as we share more about lymphoedema, early detection, and evidence-based management.
