Topic: “Tonsils & Adenoids Surgery” in children.

Tonsils and Adenoids:
Tonsils are small, round glands in the back of the mouth on the sides of the throat.
The adenoids are glands similar to the tonsils, but located above the soft roof of the mouth.
Both fight infections.
What's Tonsillectomy & Adenoidectomy?
Tonsillectomy is a surgical procedure to remove the tonsils.
Often the adenoids are removed at the same time as tonsils.
Adenoidectomy is a surgical removal of Adenoids.
Surgery is required to treat frequently recurring that doesn't respond to antibiotic treatment.
Prevention:
The best way to prevent tonsillitis & adenoidectomy is through good hygiene, including:
1. Washing your hands often
2. Not sharing food, drink, utensils, or personal items like toothbrushes with anyone
3. Staying away from someone who has a sore throat or tonsillitis
Your ENT surgeon can prescribe surgery.
