Had a client come in saying she had "baby arm" from carrying her 22 pound son in her left arm. Told me she can't reach behind her without pain. My first thought was to check the rotator cuff muscles. When carrying a heavy load, if there is dysfunction, it's common to roll the shoulder in. That would be an overworking subscapularis, right where her shoulder hurt. Her infraspinatus failed the test and even hurt to do so. Released the subscap and activated the infraspinatus. No more pain and full range of motion. She'll have to pay attention and switch arms.
