World Cancer Day 2026

The Bone and Joint Clinic in Nairobi, joins the international community in commemorating World Cancer Day this 4th February 2026. The new World Cancer Day theme 2025-2027 “United by Unique” places people at the centre of care and their stories at the heart of the conversation.

Many people don't realize that different types of cancer can start in the bones! Most bone tumors are benign (not cancerous). However, some bone tumors are malignant (cancerous), and can cause cancer cells to spread throughout the body. In almost all cases, treatment for bone tumors involves a combination of chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery.

Bone tumors can affect any bone in the body and develop in any part of the bone, from the surface to the center of the bone (the bone marrow). A growing bone tumor destroys healthy tissue and weakens bone, making it more vulnerable to fractures.

It is always advisable to get checked by a specialist as soon as you suspect something out of the ordinary.

Yes, in order to serve you better, we haved moved office for your convenience. The Bone and Joint Clinic is now housed at Gateway Place, Jakaya Kikwete Road, Milimani, just ahead of Integrity Centre. We are now also a part of Jasmine Dental and Medical Centre, thereby expanding our medical services to meet your health needs. Public transport is readily available nearby as well as taxis. Free parking is available within the premises.
