Through our ongoing outreach program, we continue to bring rehabilitation and assistive technology services closer to communities ensuring that no one is left behind due to distance or limited access.

During this outreach, three participants who had earlier been part of the mass assessment and registration received their assistive devices, giving them greater mobility, independence, and confidence to participate fully in community life.

At APDK, we believe that inclusion begins with access and every outreach brings us one step closer to a society where everyone can thrive. 💪

APDK participated in the launch of the Economic Value of Unpaid Domestic and Care Work Report 2025, led by KNBS and the State Department for Gender Affairs and Affirmative Action.

The report reveals the significant contribution of unpaid care work to Kenya’s economy — a burden that disproportionately falls on women and caregivers of persons with disabilities.

At APDK, we see daily how caregiving responsibilities limit economic opportunities for families of children and adults with disabilities.
Recognizing the economic value of unpaid care work is a critical step toward inclusive budgeting, strengthened social protection, and caregiver support.

When caregivers are supported, persons with disabilities thrive.

Today, APDK Kisii Branch joined hands with the Kisii Deaf Association and NCPWD to celebrate Deaf Awareness Month under the theme:

✨ “No Human Rights without Kenyan Sign Language Rights.” ✨

We stand together to champion inclusion, accessibility, and the recognition of Kenyan Sign Language (KSL) as a fundamental human right.
When we remove communication barriers, we create space for dignity, equality, and full participation.

Yesterday, APDK Siaya rolled out a hands-on Child Protection & Safeguarding Training for parents and caregivers of children with disabilities across multiple sub-counties.
