Hereβs a glimpse into a typical day in the life of a caregiving student at SITC:
7:30 AM β Morning Arrival and Prep
Students begin the day early, dressed in their professional uniforms. After checking in at the campus, they gather for a quick team briefing. Morning energy is high as everyone prepares for the day's practical sessions.
8:00 AM β Theory Class: Understanding Patient Needs
The day starts with a classroom lecture on key healthcare topics like nutrition, patient hygiene, or infection control. Instructors use real-world scenarios to explain caregiving principles, and students engage through questions, case studies, and group discussions.
10:00 AM β Practical Lab: Hands-On Training
Next, itβs time to move to the skills lab, where students practice tasks like:
Checking vital signs
Assisting with mobility and transfers
Making hospital beds
Providing personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming)
Instructors supervise closely, ensuring students master every step with compassion and accuracy.
12:30 PM β Lunch & Social Time
Students take a break at the campus cafeteria or nearby eateries. This is a great time to bond with classmates, share study tips, or relax before the afternoon session.
1:30 PM β Clinical Simulation or Fieldwork
Depending on the schedule, the afternoon might involve:
Simulated caregiving scenarios using mannequins and role play
Supervised visits to partner hospitals, homes, or senior care centers

4:00 PM β Career Guidance & Certification Prep
Before wrapping up, students may attend sessions on:
Resume writing and job interview techniques

5:00 PM β End of Day: Review & Study
Students review the day's lessons, discuss challenges, and plan assignments. Some join peer study groups or meet with instructors for extra help.
