Operation Ear Drop Kenya

Operation Ear Drop Kenya is a charitable organization, registered as a Non-Governmental Organization, which has successfully provided service to improve the lives of thousands of hearing impaired children in Kenya for over 10years. Operation Ear Drop comprises of a board of volunteer local professionals working with volunteer Dutch and Kenyan ENT surgeons, Audiologists and trainers of teachers for the deaf to provide hearing health services to the less privileged in our society. OED has been and continues to carry out activities in the following areas of hearing health:

* Free Ear Screening at Nairobi City Council Schools in Collaboration with the Nairobi City Council Health Department.

* Free Ear Surgery sessions at the Kenyatta National Hospital and Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital Eldoret.

* Training of postgraduate ENT doctors in Ear Surgery.

* Provision of Ear Surgery equipment to Provincial Hospitals.

* Training of special education teachers in hearing assessment and taking care of hearing aids.

* Medical and surgical outreach camps in provincial and district hospitals across the country.

* Screening of noise induced hearing loss, health education and provision of ear protectors to Jua Kali artisans in collaboration with the Retirements Benefit Authority.

* Free Ear Surgery Sessions at the Gertrude’s Garden Children’s Hospital.
