The idea is the brain child of Chef Njathi Kabui to establish a space dedicated to spreading and expanding food wisdom. Chef Kabui is an internationally recognized Kenyan chef based in the U.S who maintains strong connections to his roots. His deep connections to the Food Movement in the U.S has inspired him to open a Food Academy in his home country. It will cover all aspect of food, culture and sustainability, from having a demonstration farm, having workshops on different topics to having community space where people can spend quality time and enjoy quality food. There will be a kitchen and a facility that can host, public and private events as well as offer weekend get aways for locals and internationals. There will be cottages on site to host interns and Woofers, as well as anybody who may want to use the space for creative purposes. The space is available for short periods of few days to a few months. The space combines food, activism, eco tourism and sustainability all in one space. As an food activist and a chef, the facility will embody the message that Chef Kabui has been spreading across the globe. The farm and the vision is kept alive and going by the most capable leadership of Grace Awuor and Viola Maina. We are also thankful to our hard working farmers who do the work on the ground. We are equally honored to have interns both local and internal support us with advice, seeds resources in an effort to make our vision a reality. The list of supporters in the is simply too long to list and would not be comprehensive.
