𝐊𝐄𝐍𝐘𝐀 𝐑𝐄 𝐄𝐌𝐏𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐑𝐒 𝐋𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐒 𝐈𝐍 𝐑𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐃𝐀, 𝐒𝐈𝐀𝐘𝐀 𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐓𝐘

The Corporation, through its flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative - Niko Fiti ability beyond disability, has today empowered the lives of differently abled persons in Rarieda, Siaya County.

In a colorful ceremony that was held today at St. Mary Lwak Girls’ Senior School, the Corporation donated assorted mobility and assistive devices worth over Ksh700,000 to beneficiaries in the region. The handover ceremony for the devices was presided over by the Board Chairman – Mr. Eric Gumbo, MBS and attended by Kenya Re staff led by the GM – Property & Investments – Gekone Nicodemus.

The handover event occurred concurrently with a Government of Kenya (GoK) initiative dubbed Huduma Mashinani and was attended by dignitaries such as Hon. Dorcas Oduor SC, OGW, EBS, The Attorney General of Kenya, Dr Chris Kiptoo, CBS, Principal Secretary, National Treasury, Hon. Dr Paul Otiende Amollo, MP., LLB, LLM, Litt.D, CPM. SC - MP Rarieda Constituency, Dr. Ouma Oluga, OGW, – Principal Secretary, State Department for Health, CPA Ms. Carren Agengo’ – Principal Secretary – State Department for Children Services amongst other distinguished national and local leaders.

Yesterday’s AI and prompt engineering training was anything but ordinary our team explored how to turn large language models into powerful tools for real insurance workflows, mastering the art of crafting precise prompts to unlock accurate, high-value insights; facilitated by Mr. Samuel Ruugia, Manager ICT & R&D, the session went beyond theory with hands-on tasks where trainees tested their skills, presented solutions, and discovered just how much rich, actionable secondary data AI can deliver when prompted the right way proving that the real power of AI lies in how you ask. Dr. Hillary Wachinga, our Group Managing Director also joined the session, emphasizing the need to embed AI into our daily workflows to boost efficiency, reduce turnaround time, and stay competitive in an increasingly fast-paced landscape.

This week, the first cohort of the Corporation’s ISO Champions successfully completed an integrated ISO training at SEO Hotel in Machakos.

This training program empowered ISO Champions to master the concepts and practical implementation of two vital standards - Quality Management Systems (QMS) – ISO 9001:2015 and Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) - ISO/IEC 27001:2022 This program also equips our ISO Champions with the specialized skills needed to drive continual improvement and service excellence across all business functions.

The training was facilitated by Sentinel Africa Consulting and organized by the ISO department.
