At the Mastercard Foundation/United States International University - Africa Graduation Dinner held yesterday at the Hyatt Regency, our Corporate Affairs Manager, Ms. Gladys Some, HSC, proudly reflected on the impact of Kenya Reโ€™s flagship CSR initiative โ€“ the Niko Fiti, Ability Beyond Disability program. Through this program, Kenya Re has been at the forefront of promoting inclusivity by equipping persons with disabilities with mobility devices, supporting their education journey, and transforming learning environments to be more disability-friendly.

It is through this initiative that Mr. Nicodemus Kilunda was identified as a bright but disadvantaged student. Kenya Re sponsored his mobility device, facilitated his admission to Lenana School, and in partnership with the Ministry of Education, renovated Lenana School and Moi Girls Isinya to make them accessible to students with disabilities.

Today, Nicodemus stands tall as a graduate of USIU, supported further by the Mastercard Foundation. His journey is a shining example of how partnerships, resilience, and Kenya Reโ€™s commitment to creating a level playing field can transform lives and open doors to a brighter future.

Together, let us continue building a society where ability truly goes beyond disability.
