Cancer is a silent epidemic. It is now the 3rd leading cause of death in Kenya, after infectious and cardiovascular diseases. 1 in 600 children will be diagnosed with cancer before the age of 16, over 80% will succumb to the illness and it is estimated that more than 50% of the children in Kenya are never diagnosed. nt is no longer a viable option. Apart from the chronic deficiency of our diagnostic facilities, the lack of treatment finance and an acute shortage of cancer care services are major contributors to the unacceptably high mortality rate of children diagnosed with cancer. KeemoKidz is the only organization in Kenya which is focused solely on meeting the emotional, social and financial needs of children diagnosed with cancer. From direct practical financial assistance to raising awareness and building capacity for the development of local treatment facilities and human resources, KeemoKidz is committed to attaining its vision of a cancer free Kenya for Kids.
