Reading food package labels.
If your goal is to eat and buy healthy food here are a few tips:
1. The first ingredient in the ingredient list is always is the most in quantity. Ingredients are always listed in the order of their amount in a food - the food is mostly made up of the ingredients that come first, and less of the ingredients that come last.
2. Look out for wording like partially hydrogenated fats, this are trans fats and they are not healthy.
3. High fructose corn syrup this is mainly sugar
4. Any food additives that are not healthy.

Why are minerals important?
The body needs more than 15 different minerals for growth, health and energy. Many know calcium and Iron but others include magnesium, potassium, Sulphur, Copper, Phosphorous, Cobalt, and zinc. Minerals cannot be manufactured by the body thus the importance of a balanced meal.
The main function of minerals are 1. they are a constituent of bones and teeth 2. constituents of body cells and body fluids 3.part of the enzyme systems controlling body functions.

VITAMINS
Will taking extra vitamins make me more healthy?
As long as you are getting enough for your immediate needs in your normal diet, extra vitamins won't make you extra healthy.
Extra vitamins are not used by the body, but are disposed of or stored up. If the vitamins are water soluble they are simply passed through the system and out of the other end eg vitamin c and B complex, if they are fat soluble A,D,E,K are stored in the body and remain unused unless daily supplies dry up
