On Friday, DKL had the privilege of hosting 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗸𝗶𝗺𝗮 (Nairobi County Lab Coordinator) and 𝗡𝗮𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗡𝘆𝗼𝗶𝗸𝗲(Lab Surveillance Focal Person) as part of the ongoing Lab Mapping Exercise spearheaded by the 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 (𝗡𝗣𝗛𝗜) 𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗣𝗛𝗟 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗡𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗶 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁.

The exercise is assessing the preparedness of laboratories across Kenya — spanning public, private, NGOs, and FBO facilities — in handling outbreaks.

During their visit, the delegation held in-depth discussions with our Founder & CEO, Dr. Ahmed Kalebi, on strengthening diagnostic capacity and collaboration.

Dr. Kalebi Labs (DKL) was privileged today to host 63 Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Pharmacy students from the Department of Medical Microbiology & Parasitology, Kisii University, who were accompanied by three of their lecturers for an academic exposure visit.

The students, currently in their 3rd year of study and fresh from completing their coursework in Medical Microbiology, Parasitology & Entomology, were welcomed by the DKL management team and taken through an in-depth tour of our ultramodern facility.

Cervical cancer is one of the most preventable cancers in women — and the key lies in early detection of high-risk HPV, the virus that causes it.

For years, Pap smears were recommended, but studies now confirm that 𝙃𝙋𝙑 𝙋𝘾𝙍 𝙩𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙨 𝙣𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙮 𝙩𝙬𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙖𝙨 𝙖𝙘𝙘𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚. That’s why the Kenya Ministry of Health and global guidelines endorse it as the preferred method for screening.
