๐ŸŽ‰ TEAM TWO HAS COMPLETED TRAINING!
๐Ÿ“ Stem Hotel, Nakuru | ๐Ÿ“… 28thโ€“30th July 2025

Weโ€™re excited to celebrate the successful conclusion of the Team Two Enumerator Training Workshop under the Equity Project, proudly delivered in collaboration with Sonia Nabeta Foundation

For three impactful days, a new group of young individuals living with Type 1 Diabetes gathered in Nakuru to be equipped with the skills and tools to drive community-based data collection. Their mission? To help uncover the social and demographic factors influencing glycaemic control in CDiC clinics across Kenya.

But this was more than just a skills workshopโ€”it was about amplifying lived experiences, building confidence, and placing young voices at the heart of health research.

โœจ Key topics explored:

Research ethics and responsible data handling
KoboToolbox for digital data collection
Mental wellness and emotional resilience in the field
Peer-driven learning and shared narratives
Planning and readiness for field deployment

As they head back to their communities, these trained enumerators carry not just knowledgeโ€”but a renewed sense of purpose to turn insights into impact.

๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ Well done, Team Two! Youโ€™re paving the way for inclusive, community-led research across Kenya.

โœ… TRAINING COMPLETE!
๐Ÿ“ Semara Hotel, Machakos | ๐Ÿ“… 23rdโ€“25th July 2025

Weโ€™ve officially wrapped up the Enumerator Training Workshop under the Equity Project, in collaboration with Sonia Nabeta Foundation

Over three impactful days, we trained a dedicated team of young persons living with Type 1 Diabetes to serve as data collectors for a national survey on sociodemographic factors affecting glycaemic control in CDiC clinics across Kenya.

This training was about more than tools and techniquesโ€”it was about representation, lived experience, and youth leadership in health research.

As these young leaders return to their counties, they carry more than knowledgeโ€”they carry the power to transform data into impact.

๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ Congratulations to our newly trained enumerators! We canโ€™t wait to see the difference youโ€™ll make.

๐Ÿ“ ONGOING: EQUITY PROJECT ENUMERATOR TRAINING WORKSHOP

Location: Semara Hotel, Machakos | Dates: 23rd โ€“ 25th July 2025

We are proud to be hosting a dynamic and purpose-driven Enumerator Training Workshop under the Equity Project in partnership with Sonia Nabeta Foundation currently taking place in Machakos. This workshop brings together young persons living with Type 1 Diabetes from across Kenya, who have been selected and trained as enumerators to lead data collection efforts in their communities.

This initiative, under the Survey on Sociodemographic Factors Impacting Glycaemic Control Among Type 1 Diabetes Patients Followed Up in CDiC Clinics, it is not just about dataโ€”itโ€™s about inclusion, lived experience, and equity in action.

The three-day workshop covers:

โœ”๏ธ Research ethics & methodology
โœ”๏ธ Interview techniques using KoboToolbox
โœ”๏ธ Psychosocial support for enumerators
โœ”๏ธ Lived experience sharing
โœ”๏ธ Practical field planning and rollout strategies

This marks a significant step in transforming health research by placing the voice and leadership of those directly affectedโ€”young people living with Type 1 Diabetesโ€”at the centre of the process.

We look forward to the impact these empowered enumerators will create in the field and the insights their work will contribute to improving care and outcomes for people living with diabetes.
