Living a life of Abundance

Mwihaki Kahiga: Motivating The Generation

Today i woke up thinking about Job, if there was a man who was tried and tested to the maxim, this is the man. It was so bad that he got to a point where he cursed the day he was born.

If you haven't got to a point where you felt it was meaningless to be born, you have not yet hit rock bottom.

Job was a man of great faith and despite the pain of losing everything including his children, he was hanging in there somehow.

The verse that touches me most in the book of job says that " there is hope for a tree that has been cut, at the smell of rain, it shall live again"

Sometimes you just need to smell the thing you desperately need for you to wake up and fight on. When your recovery mode is unleashed everything lost will be paid with another and in double portions.

Keep believing and have faith in the author of your destiny even when it makes no sense to believe.

Mental Wellness

‘Inside the head there is a board room where serious matters get discussed..with who exactly is the question? Then there is the pity parties that are triggered by many factors in life and these are very destructive. This is where all the why me? how now ? when will the end come? questions are asked and one can easily drift into what if i was absent from all this madness? The world just might be better without me you know…Those parties are so convincing that making a decision to jump a bridge or crash the car or just gas one self up seems quite romantic and peaceful’

The Cage

I was having a deep conversation with someone as i took my lunch that triggered me into digging out this very difficult but true piece of writing i did a few years ago.

Financial freedom will not come from what trickles in at the end of every month. It will come because of the passive continuous income that we make through out our life times.

The first few years of setting up and running a business are tough but the sacrifice is worth it in the end.

Its the sacrifices we make today that build a better future for us tomorrow.

Regards

mwihakikahiga.com My whats app status has been the words "I believe just like a child for a while" These word are part of the song "creation calls" by Brian Doekersen and it has been one of my favorite songs of all times. To be honest i had not thought of the words with much depth until something

This passage right here

"I once got lost in the mountains. When I stopped to ask for directions to the campsite, I was told, "You can't get there from here. You must start from the other side of the mountain!"

In the same way, you cannot arrive at your life's purpose by starting with a focus on yourself. You must
begin with God, your Creator.

You exist only because God wills that you exist. You were made by God and for God-and until you understand that, life will never make sense.

It is only in God that we discover our origin, our identity, our meaning, our purpose, our significance, and our destiny - Rick Warren , The purpose driven life

[05/30/19]   Throw Away That Degree Otherwise You Will Die Poor----May 21, 2017 •

Most of the educated people in Kenya are poor. Majority of the educated earn less than K30,000 for a salary before tax and other deductions. When the deductions are put into consideration, the net salary comes to around K24,000. The net salary then suffers from loan deductions. The landlord then demands for rent, and monthly shopping takes away 30% of the balance. The bus will demand for 10% going to and from work and relatives, family and friends rest. The whole salary is gone and borrowed money starts operating. The borrowed money includes short loans and salary advances.

The difference between poverty and prosperity is property. A prosperous person has property to his name while a poverty stricken person has no property to show. Using this understanding, therefore, most of the degree holders are poverty stricken, borrowing money to buy chicken and chips, pizza, and a car.

The biggest excuse for getting paid such low amounts of money and having to sit and work for another person for 30 days is THE DEGREE / DIPLOMA or CERTIFICATE that one possesses and that’s all. This has made most of the degree holders very poor to poverty stricken and will die that way most likely. A degree holder does not know how to generate money unless that money is generated for the employer. A degree holder is so dependent on the salary that he can do anything to get a job but will not think of starting a business of his own to employ others.

1. A degree holder is not prepared to sell chips but is very happy to work in a cafeteria owned by a non certificate holder.

2. A degree holder is not prepared to sell popcorn in the street but is very happy to work for any business outlet in a tent by the road side.

3. A degree holder is not prepared to sell second hand clothes but is very happy to be employed by Mutumba Traders in the business of selling second hand clothes.

4. A degree holder is not prepared to make K200,000 monthly doing his / her own business but is very happy to work at the till in a bank getting paid K30,000

5. A degree holder is not prepared to start a company and grow it in two to three years but will spend three years searching for a job.

6. A degree holder is not prepared to sell food to students but will be happy to be reporting to a boss with no qualifications as long as he is paid K20,000 for a salary.

7. A degree holder is so eager to get out of this country and work in another country than spend time to develop his own country.

8. A degree holder staying in a foreign land (a Kenyan) is very keen to condemn Kenya but never contributing to the development of this country.

9. A Kenyan degree holder would rather sweep the streets of London or USA than start a business and make money in Kenya-most work in people’s homes doing some cleaning work and gardening.

10. A degree holder in Kenya will watch comedies on his laptop and Mobil phone but never to write a book using the same laptop to sell and make money.

11. A degree holder will blame the government for lack of jobs even after he was on government bursary for him to have his degree.

12. Kenya is blessed with people who have master’s degrees and in different technical fields such as IT, Engineering , Mass media etc but all of them have failed to create a cartoon character and develop a movie from the same instead they are excited and happy to buy Tom and Jerry for their children thereby promoting America.

At one Kenyan University there is a man of very humble background. He does not speak English but sells Coke, Fanta and Sprite at K30 each making a profit of K8 on each drink. He also sells chips at K80 making a profit of K30 on each portion. Not less than 500 students buy chips and a drink every single day. This means he makes a profit for a drinks and chips and a total profit of Approximately K12,000 per day…every single day. In ten days he makes a profit of K120,000 in twenty days K240,000 and in thirty days K360,000.

The degree holder working in a bank at the till gets a salary of K30,000 every month.

Why are the degree holders poor?

Because they have decided to pride themselves in a degree and failed to think better than a man who does not have even a certificate to his name.

Degree holders spend their time liking articles on linkedIn and facebook but never have any care in the world to implement what they like. Poverty starts from the mind, a mind that just likes things but never to implement those things.

If you want to progress, throw away that degree and start thinking better than someone without a degree. Be prepared to get your hands dirty and work like an ox for your business. Your hard work will pay off.

Working until it pains is far better than being poor. ( copied)

You may not be feeling very exited about this day..maybe because of the things you are expecting ahead or because of the things that happened yesterday.

However the best way to start your day is to Thank God for breath, If he decided to cut the supply of air non of us would be alive.

Thank him for giving you a roof over your head, you slept in a warm bed, you have a cup of something warm to start your day and as you walk out of the house you are not naked or barefoot.

There are so many little things we take for granted but those little things add up to build the people we are. That person you see every morning on the mirror is not just a mass of flesh..you are a walking miracle.

It might be hard but it will be possible..it might.look dark but light is coming...it might be cloudy but the rains are not far...it might be feeling like the end...but God will take over and surprise you.

Its a beautiful day the sun is shinning....Its an amazing day...this day will be a success..this day will be fulfilling and fruitful.

NEVER STOP BELIEVING MIRACLES HAPPEN EVERYDAY.

Mwihaki Kahiga: Motivating The Generation

We spend too much time focussing on the wrong things and the wrong people.

Its a very frustrating process to watch the things you care about failing or the people you care about failing you.

We work tirelessly to prove ourselves to others.......to prove ourselves in a relationship that is draining and demoralizing.....to prove ourselves in a job that we do only because we need money.....to prove ourselves to friends who dont care about us...to prove ourselves to everybody we come across.....life somehow becomes a cycle of seeking human approvals.

A simple definition of failure is "living your life trying to prove yourself to others"

This morning i urge you to drop this mission and start focussing on your goals..focuss on personal development..focus on reaching the peak..drop mediocrity and live the life that is meant for you. You will enjoy being alive more if you walk towards your goals step by step.

Remember that trying to prove yourself will either delay you from reaching your destiny or ensure you never get there. Dont listen to the whispers of others...they will drag you down the path of failure or step on you to get where they are going.

I would rather have no friends than have friends who need to approve me to reach my destiny.

Our goals should be our focus. Enjoy a fruitful life of focussing on your goals and ditch the need of peoples approval.

She looked at the empty wall and could see right through it. Its like someone had built a secret maze and hidden it behind a layer of paint. There were layers and layers of thick walls, one corridor after the other and she followed the sneaky paths quietly.

The silence was so loud it was deafeaning, her flashlight was dimming and she was scared of the dark shades crawling all over. Alone and scared hoping to see another light approaching yet deeper and deeper she went in search of a feeling she had lost along the way.

Her eyes kept opening wider but the wider they got the less she could see,
Her ears heard imaginary sounds with haunting music from the dark holes threatening her very existence. She had no sense of life in her own body and her soul was darkening by the seconds.

A nagging warmth buried deep within her kept trying to resurface, A warmth of humanity, love and belonging, that had been dimmed by the ghosts from his past, That hounded and covered the warm flow every time it emerged.

In the maze hope disappeared, tears became the order of the day, pain and desperation as the space became hollow and in the end she was floating in a hole with no end on site.

The little warmth buried far within the fears was fighting hard to reignite a dying soul, of a once good person turned vain and void by the myths of his past. A collapsed belief system within her...morals devoid and loyalties decaying.

As she floats into oblivion she can only hope the warmth can remain, can reignite her dying soul into a fiery furnace, that once kept her going when the maze of life and the darkness of humanity came hounding.

She finally drops her eyes from the wall, blinking it all away and stand to fight another day. The shocking faces of the people around her jolting her back to reality that yet again she had lost, she had lost a moment in time.

Mwihaki Kahiga: Motivating The Generation

My English teacher in high school walked towards me as i tilled the flower garden infront of the office and asked me a question i couldnt answer in one word.
"How did you get into this" what happened? I looked up and with tears filling my eyes i said its a long story.

Working in the scorching sun on a saturday when everybody else was resting or studying felt like the biggest burden at that time. My self esteem was dwidling and i dint have much hope of a future at this point.

The teacher who was our CU patron said God has a great destiny for you..a vision i could not see then..how can i have a destiny when i am working to raise my own fee at a school where i am the headgirl?

I look back today and see how far i have come and i can only tell you never to give up because destiny is calling and if you focus and persist things will get better one of these fine days.

Your present circumstance is but a stepping stone to the next great thing that is about to happen to you. If you continue taking those baby steps and not get weary along the way..things will fall into place sooner than you expect.

Mwihaki Kahiga

Steve Jobs when giving a speech at Stanford to the graduating class said that he wished they would "stay hungry" and "stay foolish"

This is my wish for myself today because having lived this long and experiencing different people there is nothing more dangerous that a person who is contented and who thinks they know it all.

When someone is contented they dont look for better and they also think that anyone trying to help them grow or think differently does not know what he or she is doing. People that know it all have problems following instructions and authority because they think their own way is best and they also basically do things for the sake of doing them.

A "hungry" and "foolish" person is the most useful person you can have around. They dont get tired of improving and learning more. There is so much to look forward to in this life...so much and we only live once ~ Mwihaki Kahiga
