"Hello Dr Ndungu?

Happy writing this mail just to say thank you. After the laparoscopic
surgery for my son, all is now well and he is comfortable in school.

I now have hopes for him sitting his KCSE exams this year.

May our God give you strenghth, good health as you work in the medical field. May God watch over your family and may He also give you a heart to endure all the odds.

Thank you Dr.

Latest from “The STAMPEDE Study”

In 2012, the study concluded that, bariatric surgery is a highly effective and durable treatment for type 2 diabetes in obese patients, enabling nearly all surgical patients to be free of insulin and many to be free of all diabetic medications three years after surgery. The bariatric surgery patients experienced an improvement in quality of life and a reduction in the need for cardiovascular medications to control blood pressure and cholesterol compared to those receiving medical therapy.
Late last month, the final results of a five-year study were released, showing that Type 2 diabetes patients who underwent bariatric surgery fared much better than those who received conventional medical therapy.
The study also made another potentially impactful finding: that surgical patients with moderate obesity – a body mass index between 27 and 34 – experienced similar improvements to more severely obese patients with a body mass index of 35 or more. The finding is at odds with current clinical and insurance restrictions on bariatric surgery. Typically, the procedures is only covered for patients with a body mass index of at least 35.
