🌹 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 - 𝗝𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗶 𝗞𝗮𝘃𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶 🌹

Meet Jackson Maingi Kavungi, our dedicated Packing Supervisor at Van den Berg Roses Kenya. Since joining the company in 2006, Jackson has been instrumental in ensuring that our roses are packed with the highest quality standards before they reach our customers worldwide.

"My job involves maintaining discipline within the packing section, managing packing quality requirements, and ensuring we meet and exceed our packing production targets. I closely interact with field, direct order, and quality control personnel to align with our company’s strategy and goals. I also focus on continuous quality improvement, monitoring staff performance, and ensuring that our supply meets each customer’s needs. Additionally, I oversee the cool chain and box temperature dispatch targets to maintain freshness.

The most I like about my job is the good and accommodating environment at my workplace. It makes daily operations smooth and enjoyable."

Achieving zero market complaints makes me proud! It means our team is delivering exceptional quality to customers every time."

In my free time I like watching football! It's my favorite way to relax and unwind. I have three wonderful children who bring joy to my life every day."

𝗪𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝗶𝘁! 𝗙𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗺 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱!

It was a great honor for all employees at Van den Berg Roses Kenya to receive the Fairtrade Africa Platinum Excellence Award 2025.

The award recognizes our continuous dedication and cooperation with Fairtrade Africa (FTA) in advancing Fairtrade principles across Africa through outstanding leadership and transformative impact.

To celebrate this milestone, we shared a special lunch with our amazing team on Monday, 16th June, because this achievement belongs to every one of us.

We were also proud to welcome FTA representatives Bonface Lwanda and Hosea Mboga to our farm for the official presentation. Their presence made the moment even more meaningful.

Together, we grow roses and fairness.

We’re proud to introduce Picanto, one of the most recent spray roses added to our assortment. This orange spray rose, grown on African soil, stands out with its vibrant color and is available in lengths 40, 50, 60 and 70 cm at Royal FloraHolland Aalsmeer, via our webshop and through direct sales; sales@bergroses.com.

Picanto is a wonderful addition to our growing spray rose collection. We now grow 7 different spray rose varieties and we are working on even more!

At Pride of Africa Roses, we continue to innovate and grow. We currently cultivate 7 beautiful spray rose varieties, and we’re getting ready to expand!

We’ve recently selected 7 promising new varieties from Interplant Roses B.V. These will soon be planted and thoroughly tested for quality, vase life, and growing performance. Only the very best will make it into our final assortment.

𝙈𝙚𝙚𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙢 - 𝘿𝙤𝙧𝙘𝙖𝙨 𝙈𝙪𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙣𝙞 𝙏𝙝𝙪𝙤

At Pride of Africa Roses, we take pride in the dedication and passion of our team members. Today, we shine a spotlight on Dorcas Muthoni Thuo, our Administrative Assistant, who has been part of our company since December 2008.

Dorcas plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth administrative and clerical operations. She is responsible for handling direct lines, updating clients' orders, and documenting them according to specifications. Additionally, she ensures effective coordination between the packhouse and dispatch team, while also preparing all necessary shipping documents.

"I love my ability to efficiently juggle between being a full-time employee, a wife, and a mom. I am a hard-working and self-driven individual, always willing to learn new skills and develop expertise in new areas. Passion drives me, and I take pride in getting the job done. I value honesty and teamwork and always strive to help others."

Dorcas takes immense pride in her ability to cooperate and interact with all employees, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment. Her personal commitment to the growth of the company fuels her daily motivation.

When she’s not at work, Dorcas enjoys reading, listening to music, and travelling. But above all, she is a devoted and proud mom of four lovely children – three boys and one girl.

A special moment! During the business forum in Kenya, the Royal Couple engaged in discussions with the floriculture sector about the future of our industry. We were present on behalf of Pride of Africa Roses and discussed the opportunities and challenges within the sector.

The beauty of Kenya caught in a rose

A brand with African beauty

Pride of Africa is a well-know rose brand from Kenya. The production site is located on the Naivasha Lake in Kenya. It is a product to be proud of. Pride of Africa roses are available in many colors and varieties, in various lengths and the bud sizes vary from 3.0 to 4.5 cm. The passion for the product and the cultivation is shared with many involved employees who, day in and day out, get the best out of themselves for a distinctive top product with a long shelf life.

Attention to people and nature

Grower Van den Berg RoseS focuses on nature and people and is therefore certified for FairTrade, a social quality mark to help developing countries to achieve better trade conditions and promote sustainability. Van den Berg RoseS has also taken initiatives in Kenya, such as training projects for their employees and their families, medical care, drinking water supplies, clothing projects and dietary advice.
