we stand against gender based violence.

Violence against women remains a huge global concern and we, at the GMHPN, wish to take the opportunity to encourage individuals to STOP sexual and gender-based violence towards women. GMHPN's women empowerment working group supports efforts to advocate for the rights of vulnerable people and towards the recovery of those who find themselves battling with a mental health condition or symptoms therefrom.

Post partum depression is one overlooked MH conditions that affects young mothers especially those struggling to bond with their children. There is a lot of beliefs and misconceptions to how a woman should experience/behave after child birth creating a barrier to seeking help.
In fear of being seen as a less/bad mothers, many suffer in silence and shy away from accessing services or simply disclosing the fact that they are struggling. This can change if we embrace and accept those facing such challenges and being less judgmental.

we cannot discuss inclusive employment without inclusive education cause who is supposed to get the jobs if we left behind from the start.

Parents play a great role in their children's lives. A parent who is still dealing with past trauma can impact their child in a negative way forcing them to develop unhealthy coping mechanisms. This can also impact a child's behaviour or/and self-esteem.
