Today, FarmLife Health Services Ltd proudly participated in a Tree Planting Day at Lankwenda Primary School, reinforcing our commitment to environmental conservation and community-driven restoration.

We were honored to plant 1,500 assorted tree seedlings alongside key stakeholders including ISINYA, PAMKO CBO, and KOYUM Youth Association.

It was inspiring to see the strong interest from KOYUM Youth Association in avocado farming, agroforestry, and beekeeping. This marks the beginning of a promising collaboration focused on:

Landscape and ecosystem restoration
Promotion of sustainable and resilient farming practices.

Youth empowerment through climate-smart agriculture.

Community sensitization and environmental stewardship.

At FarmLife, we believe restoration goes beyond planting trees — it is about building partnerships, empowering communities, and securing a greener future for generations to come.

Kenya is Africa’s Avocado King!

Morocco may have gained ground in exports to Europe due to logistical challenges Kenya faced last year — but the bigger picture tells a different story.
Kenya’s avocado hectarage has expanded beyond 36,000 hectares, compared to Morocco’s approximately 12,000 hectares. When you consider total export markets — including Kenya’s strong and growing trade with the UAE and other global destinations — Kenya continues to lead in overall avocado exports and industry development.

Even more exciting is the rapid transformation of Kenya’s avocado sector through diversification and value addition:

Kenya has nearly tripled avocado oil exports in the past year, approaching 30,000 Metric Tonnes.Over 50 avocado oil processing plants are now operational across the country. Kenya has evolved into a regional processing hub, trucking and crushing fruit from across East Africa, New guacamole processing facilities are coming online, expanding product diversification. Investment in frozen avocado processing plants is accelerating, strengthening Kenya’s position in global value-added markets.

This is the evolution of Kenya’s avocado industry — moving beyond fresh exports into processing, innovation, and regional leadership.

Kenya is not just exporting avocados. We are building a complete ecosystem that supports farmers, exporters, processors, investors, and global trade partners.

For avocado farmers wanting to export, or supply exporters and packhouse, now is the time to apply for farm audits to get licenses to export to China and India, said KePHIS. This opens an opportunity for new entrants into the two markets, following Kenya’s newly negotiated duty reductions into the Chinese market, and with the main avocado season due to start in March, and current export licenses expiring on 30th June.
On https://farmbizafrica.com/kephis-opens-applications-for-china-and-india-avocado-exports/ KePHIS gives an exclusive interview on the rules they audit for to issue these licenses, which have never been published, and on how to get an audit.

📚Carbon Sequestration in Fruit Trees: Insights from Kenya

How much carbon can fruit trees store, and what does that mean for farmers and climate action?

This technical brief shares findings from a study that developed simple, easy-to-use allometric equations to estimate carbon storage in fruit trees.

By understanding their trees’ carbon value, farmers can access climate finance, negotiate fair payments, and participate more equitably in carbon markets, while safeguarding food security and livelihoods.
