On World AIDS Day 2024, we reflect on the HIV/AIDS journey—one of resilience, progress, and ongoing challenges. Globally, over 39 million people live with HIV, and while treatment advances have saved lives, more than 1.3 million new infections in 2023 highlight the urgent need for prevention.
Access to tools like PrEP, testing, and education is vital, yet stigma remains a major barrier, preventing many from seeking care or support. Ending discrimination is as crucial as medical advancements.
This day reminds us of our collective responsibility: to fight stigma, promote prevention, and ensure equitable access to healthcare. Together, we can achieve a future free of HIV/AIDS.
