Once again, volunteer Missions Kenya with Eagles Home Based Care have upcoming free medical missions in two children's homes within Nanyuki in October. We believe in giving back to the needy and marginalized communities.
We welcome volunteers with diverse backgrounds and cultures passionate in touching lives leaving unforgettable impact in the society. Medics from all cadres are welcomed, non medics also have a role to play; inspire and help around the homes (cooking, washing dishes, gardening) and mingle with the children and caretakers.
We also have adventure tours for our volunteers willing to spend more time with us. The length of stay depends on individual persons. Volunteers coming from abroad are responsible for their flights, visas and affordable living costs.
For planning and reservations, we encourage early communication. For more information DM, WhatsApp or email us on contact below. Thank you in advance.

Coffee and other caffeinated beverages cause the muscles of the arterial walls to tighten and the blood vessels' diameter to decrease—a process called vasoconstriction—which raises blood pressure.

On World Hypertension Day, take a look at the 5 worst foods that are a complete no-no for all patients with high BP.
Salt or sodium: Salt or foods high in sodium must be dodged by a patient with high blood pressure. This is because of the way it affects fluid balance in the blood. Regular table salt contains 40 per cent sodium which makes it a risky choice for this group of people. Bread, pizzas, processed cheese, and butter are also sources of sodium.
Pickles: Pickles are foods that require lots of salt for an extended shelf life. Due to the high sodium content, they become a part of the not-recommended group of foods for high BP patients.
Sugar: According to a 2019 study, cutting down on sugar intake in every form contributed to better management of blood pressure in women with hypertension.
Saturated fats: Processed and preserved foods are high in saturated fats which, as per several studies, are an important precursor for heart disease.
Condiments: If you cannot get enough mayonnaise, ketchup, salad dressings, and chili sauce, try to cut down on intake gradually to prevent high blood pressure from getting worse. These foods contain oodles of sodium that could be harmful for your heart.

We help individuals to improve function and live with greater independence, to promote the client’s optimal level of well-being; and to assist the patient to remain at home, avoiding hospitalization or admission to long-term care institutions.
