Laikipia Rabies Vaccination Campaign

Laikipia Rabies Vaccination Campaign The Laikipia Rabies Vaccination Campaign is a localised effort to eliminate rabies by providing pastoralist communities with access to free vaccinations.

LRVC is aimed at eradicating rabies in Laikipia County through running massive dog vaccinations. This started with vaccination campaigns in communities surrounding Mpala Research Center but has expanded to other places as a result of huge collaboration with neighboring conservancies, International Livestock Research Institute(ILRI), Karatina University and Mpala Research Center. You can get involved through volunteering or any other kind of support that will enhance the success of this initiative.

Thank you to all our volunteers & supporters for helping us vaccinate over 14,480 pets!

Every year, rabies kills 2,000 people in rural Kenya. The disease, transmitted through the bite of an infected animal, disproportionately affects rural, resource-limited communities. Rabies, is 100% fatal in humans, and completely preventable. We can wipe out rabies in Laikipia!
