Ever had a Sunday that felt like a full-length sermon—just without the pews? 🤦🏽♀️
1️⃣ Snooze-gate: Alarm rang at 6 a.m. I whispered, “Five more minutes,” and boom—woke up at 10. Church service? Long gone.
2️⃣ Matatu mission: I shrugged, threw on a hoodie, and hopped into a Buruburu mat, determined to salvage the day with errands.
3️⃣ Plot twist: Somewhere between Afya Centre and Archives my phone vanished—pick-pocket ninjas 1, Me 0.
I checked my pockets again and again. Nothing. Panic started bubbling.
4️⃣ Then boom: The makanga taps my shoulder, already frowning:
> “Sista, leta fare haraka—hapa hatuchezi!”
For a moment, I blanked out—almost sure I’d be kicked out or embarrassed loudly in front of the entire mat.
Good thing I had Ksh 200 tucked deep in my side pocket.
Otherwise, I don’t even know what drama would’ve unfolded 😮💨
🧠 Lesson of the day?
Life is full of unexpected tests—some loud, some silent.
Communication is a skill. Shouting doesn’t solve everything.
Empathy is underrated. Everyone you meet is carrying something—seen or unseen.
📖 Scripture of the day:
> “Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt…” – Colossians 4:6
So no, I didn’t make it to church—but God found me anyway, right there in a chaotic matatu, reminding me to stay grounded, calm, and kind.
Your turn:
What’s the most unexpected moment that taught you a life lesson on a normal day?
