The County Government of Nyeri is registering poor and vulnerable households for the Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF) subsidy. This will help them get free health cover supported by the Government.

If you know families with challenges such as disability, street families, elderly without support, persons with severe mental illness, or landless households, kindly inform them to visit the nearest Public Health Facility with their National ID for registration.

The exercise runs until 8th October 2025.

The Department of Medical Services and Public Health appeals to the public to help trace the family or relatives of Kelvin Kiprop, a 39-year-old man who says he hails from Samburu, Maralal. He was brought to Nyeri County Referral Hospital by a well-wisher and has been under our care for the past four months.

Kelvin has since fully recovered and is in stable condition. We are now seeking to reconnect him with his family or next of kin. If you have any information that could assist in locating his relatives, kindly contact the hospital via : 0724 249 693 or visit the facility.
