Following a video that has been circulating online of a young man from Nyeri County openly sharing his struggle with depression, we wish to inform the public that he is now safe and receiving professional psychological support.
In the video, the young man narrated how life took a drastic turn for him—from being financially stable, supporting many needy cases, and doing well in life, to reaching a point where he could no longer afford even a meal for himself. This emotional cry touched many hearts.
In response, the Christ the Good Shepherd Wellness Center team, through our Director Rev. Fr. Stephen Gitonga, the Centre Manager and Clinical Psychologist Mr. John M. Marangu, and Counselor Ms. Irene Nyothaya, intervened and facilitated his rescue. He is currently under our care at Christ the Good Shepherd Wellness Center, where he is receiving psychosocial and psychological support.
We wish to clarify that as part of our therapeutic approach, clients at the wellness center do not use personal gadgets. This allows for social detoxification and enables them to receive psychotherapy in a calm, safe, and interruption-free environment.
For anyone who may be willing to support him or seek further clarification, kindly contact us through 0742 044 681.
Thank you for your concern, compassion, and continued support.
Regards,
John M. Marangu
