Thank you to everyone who turned up and made yesterday’s FREE Diabetes Medical Camp Mwai Kibaki Referral Hospital a success!

We were honoured to serve our community through blood sugar screening, health education, counselling, and personalised guidance from our clinical team.

As part of the day’s activities, we also held short health talks on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR)—an important topic for people living with diabetes, who are often at higher risk of infections. In line with World Antimicrobial Awareness Week (18–24 November) and its 2025 theme, “Act Now: Protect Our Present, Secure Our Future,” we encouraged patients to use antibiotics responsibly and understand the dangers of drug resistance.

We appreciate every participant, partner, and staff member who contributed to the success of the camp. Together, we continue empowering our community to prevent, manage, and live well with diabetes.

Mwai Kibaki Referral Hospital joined the global community in marking World Prematurity Day with activities spread across two days.

Yesterday, our NewBorn unit and Maternal and child health unit teams visited various churches in Othaya, engaging congregations and creating awareness on Prematurity.

Today, the hospital held a heartfelt cake-cutting ceremony led by our CEO-Dr. Mûirûrí and the In-Charge- Newborn Unit to celebrate preterm babies, their brave mothers, and the teams that care for them tirelessly. The CEO reaffirmed the hospital's commitment: "These are our angels, and the hospital remains dedicated to giving them the best care, just like everyone else who walks through our doors"

Every preterm baby is a story of courage.
Every caregiver is a beacon of hope. 💜
