MALE ONLY MEDICAL INREACH 2.0 💪🏾

Gentlemen! The calendar has spoken, it’s that time again!

On 27th November 2025, Nyeri Town Health Centre invites all men to a Male Only Medical Inreach, a day dedicated to your health, strength, and well-being.

There will be free health check-ups, prostate screening, lifestyle disease assessments, and mental health sessions, because even strong men need to check in once in a while.

Wanaume, kujipima sio udhaifu… ni ujanja wa maisha! 😎

Community Dialogue Day – Majengo Community Health Unit

Nyeri Town Health Centre held a successful Community Dialogue Day with residents of the Majengo Community Health Unit, a diverse community comprising urban, semi-urban, and informal settlements.

The session brought together health workers and community members to discuss key issues such as service delivery, maternal health, nutrition, cervical cancer screening, water safety, benefits of Social Health Authority (SHA) registration and early health-seeking behavior.

The dialogue provided valuable feedback on healthcare services and strengthened collaboration between the facility and the community in promoting quality, accessible, and preventive healthcare.

Supporting Quality Care Through Partnership 🤝

Nyeri Town Health Centre was honoured to receive generous support from First Assurance Kenya Ltd – Nyeri Branch, consisting of One (1) 10,000-litre water tank and 1,200 pieces of diapers for distribution to vulnerable mothers attending our MCH clinic.

This donation followed a successful resource mobilisation initiative by the facility, after our proposal to the company was positively considered.

The items were officially received by the Facility Committee Chairman, the Facility In-Charge, and the Sub-County Health Management Team Lead. First Assurance was represented by three staff members from their Nyeri Branch during the handover.

During discussions held after the ceremony, the company expressed interest in sustaining a long-term partnership with Nyeri Town Health Centre as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme and welcomed further proposals to continue supporting community health.

We sincerely appreciate this impactful contribution that strengthens service delivery and promotes dignity in maternal and child health.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2025

At Nyeri Town Health Centre, we stand together in the fight against breast cancer. 💪💗

This month, we join the world in raising awareness, encouraging regular screenings, and spreading hope to those affected.

Breast cancer screening saves lives, early detection gives the best chance for successful treatment.
That’s why we wish to remind all our clients and community members that breast cancer examinations are offered FREE OF CHARGE at our facility all year round, not just in October.

We encourage women to take a few minutes to get screened. Bring a friend, a sister, a mother, or a colleague, let’s take charge of our health together. 💖

📢NYERI COUNTY REGISTRATION FOR SHA SUBSIDY📢

Leaving No One behind in Accessing Quality Health Care.

‼️PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT ‼️

The County Government of Nyeri is registering poor and vulnerable households for the Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF) subsidy. This will help them get free health cover supported by the Government.

If you know families with challenges such as disability, street families, elderly without support, persons with severe mental illness, or landless households, kindly inform them to visit the nearest Public Health Facility with their National ID for registration.

The exercise runs until 8th October 2025.

Celebrating Maternity Open Day at Nyeri Town Health Centre!

Today was a truly special day at our facility grounds as we hosted our Maternity Open Day alongside World Patient Safety Day Commemoration.

The community joined us in learning, sharing, and celebrating safe motherhood. Families got to interact with our healthcare team, tour our maternity services, and hear inspiring talks on maternal and newborn care.

Speaking during the event, the Facility In-Charge, Anne Kiragu, highlighted the importance of such forums, noting that they strengthen trust and partnership with the community by showing families they can rely on us for safe, compassionate, and professional care throughout the maternity journey.

Terry Wambui, the Nurse In-Charge of the Maternity Unit also shared her perspective, reminding everyone that every mother deserves dignity, safety, and support during childbirth and reassuring the community of the team’s commitment to ensuring that both mothers and babies leave our hands healthy and smiling.

From informative sessions to heartfelt moments, the day reminded us of the vital role we play in walking with mothers through pregnancy, safe delivery, and beyond.

A big thank you to everyone who attended and made this day unforgettable.

Together, we continue to make motherhood safer and healthier for all.
