These groups offer psychosocial support by professionals within them who are also living with persons with disabilities. They are proactive in advocacy, identifying proper services and even develop entrepreneurial projects that are geared towards assisting the person with disability future independence.

Physiotherapy and Occupational therapy
These two therapies most of the time go hand in hand. When part of the body loses its functions; to regain or rehabilitate it, both therapies may apply. Therapies can be overwhelming financially and emotionally and it is, therefore, advisable to create home hacks or talk to your therapist to improvise equipment and home activities that one can do independently. Definitely, you will invest on homemade equipment but at a minimal cost, however, you will need to put more effort and consistency on therapy time. It will involve a lot of discipline and self-motivation. We offer these services and support services to our clients within Mombasa.

Learners who learn differently need to be given equal opportunities as able learners or other children. These should be done in all aspects of daily life e.g. homes, religious areas, recreational areas, supermarkets family gatherings, and outings. Remember other than their area of need, other functions may be superior and need nurturing. Teachers and parents fear exploring these superior skills because they feel unqualified, they lack information, or at times misguided beliefs. Some parents feel stigmatized, and some teachers tend to fear parents of children who learn differently and withhold useful information. The impact on the differently abled child through all this is huge and productive years and time is lost in the process by not addressing the need. Engage the learner/child with as many activities as possible and find out what skill or activity he or she is able to do and build on it. This is laborious and sometimes expensive but I believe with a proper plan and commitment, the child will progressively gain independence.
This is a visually impaired learner pool orientation and kicking of legs session.
