Foot eversion in babies.

Does your baby have a poor foot placing?

Foot eversion movement of the sole away from the midline of the body.
With prolonged weight bearing on that position, the muscles are affected hence affecting the foot bones alignment.

It results in: delayed walking without support, knocking knees, frequent falls, foot and ankle pain among others.

At we treat to correct the deformity as early as noted.

Our Approach to Custom Orthotics

When it comes to orthotics, most people generally associate the word with shoe inserts used to treat a variety of everyday foot, ankle, leg, and even back and spinal pains. But shoe inserts only scratch the surface of the types of devices, technologies, and therapeutic healing processes within the realm of orthotics.

For decades, orthotists have successfully treated thousands of individuals, helping them overcome a number of ailments, from common developmental or degenerative conditions to debilitating injuries and lifelong conditions. Many of these conditions, injuries, and conditions include (but are not limited to):

1. Spinal Conditions – Scoliosis, spina bifida treatment, spinal cord injuries, etc.

2. Legs & Feet Issues – Diabetes, lower-extremity amputations for above-knee and below-knee amputees, foot and ankle arthritis (osteoarthritis), etc.
3. Nerve & Muscular Conditions and Developmental Conditions – Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, peroneal nerve palsy, polio, multiple sclerosis, Charcot–Marie–Tooth disease, muscular dystrophy, traumatic brain injuries, stroke, etc.

What is a bone deformity?

A bone deformity is a deviation or distortion of the bone from its normal shape or size. It may also be positioned incorrectly which causes poor alignment. Bones may become deformed for many reasons.
These include:

1. congenital (from birth)
2. developmental (from abnormal growth during childhood), and
3. post-traumatic (from healing in a deformed position after a fracture).

Bones may be deformed in four ways:

*. angulation (a bend in the bone),
*. rotation or torsion (a twist in the bone),
*. translation or displacement (a shift in the position of the bone after a fracture or osteotomy), or
*. limb length discrepancy (a difference in the length of a bone compared with the other side).

Although each of the different types of bone deformities can exist on its own, it is very common to see combinations of two or more of these deformity components together.

This gentleman had a below knee amputation. He walked in our facility on crutches and his first experience was like "I can walk without crutches." And he walked. After some days I believe he will gather the confidence and walk better.
