Heavenly Father,
We come to You with open hearts,
weighed down by patterns we did not choose,
but somehow inherited—cycles of pain, silence, brokenness, and fear
that have echoed through generations.
Lord, You see the things that have been passed down—not just names and features,
but anger, addiction, abandonment,
neglect, mistrust, shame, and secrets.
You know the story behind the silence,
the sorrow behind the strong fronts.
But today, we declare: it ends here.
In Your power, O God, we ask for healing.
Break the chains that bind us to what was.
Cut through the roots of dysfunction
and plant instead seeds of truth, love, and restoration.
Heal the wounds of our parents and their parents.
Heal the damage we have caused, knowingly or unknowingly.
Where there was failure, teach us faithfulness.
Where there was absence, teach us presence.
Where there was violence, let peace reign.
Where there was silence, let truth be spoken in love.
Help us not to repeat what broke us.
Help us to forgive even when no apology comes.
Help us to raise up a new generation—
free, whole, and rooted in grace.
Lord, rewrite our family story
from survival to healing,
from dysfunction to wholeness,
from generational failure
to generational blessing.
We trust You to redeem what we cannot repair on our own. Make us vessels of change and peace.
