🧠 What is it?
GDM is a type of diabetes that starts during pregnancy in women who didn’t have diabetes before. It usually shows up between week 24–28.

⚠️ What causes it?
- Pregnancy hormones block insulin
- Being overweight
- Family history of diabetes
- Age over 25
- Past GDM or big baby (≥4 kg)

📍 Common symptoms
- Feeling very thirsty
- Peeing often
- Feeling tired
- Sugar found in urine (during tests)

🔬 How is it diagnosed?
- GCT: Glucose Challenge Test
- OGTT: Oral Glucose Tolerance Test

🛠️ How is it managed?
- Healthy eating
- Regular exercise
- Checking blood sugar often
- Medication if needed (e.g., insulin)

🚨 Why it matters
If not controlled, GDM can cause:
- Big baby (macrosomia)
- Birth complications
- High blood pressure in mother
- Risk of baby developing low sugar or breathing issues

👶🏽 After delivery
- Blood sugar usually goes back to normal
- But mother has higher risk of type 2 diabetes later
- Must test sugar 6–12

🩸 PERIOD DISCHARGE
Is the vaginal secretions that occur before, during, or after menstruation. It’s a mix of cervical mucus, vaginal fluids, and sometimes blood. Its appearance changes depending on hormonal shifts throughout the cycle.

🔄 How It Changes Through the Cycle
☑️Before menstruation discharge is often thick, white, or creamy. This is due to rising progesterone levels in the luteal phase. It may feel sticky or pasty and is usually odorless or mildly musky.

☑️During menstruation discharge mixes with blood. You may notice reddish, pink, or brown fluid. Brown discharge typically represents older blood being expelled slowly. This is normal unless accompanied by foul odor or discomfort.

☑️After menstruation the discharge may appear light brown or clear. This is the uterus finishing its cleansing process. Some women experience a brief dry phase before normal mucus resumes.

✅ What’s Normal vs. What’s Not
Normal discharge around periods is usually:
🖇️White, creamy, or clear
🙂Mild in odor
🌡️Varies in texture (sticky, stretchy, or watery)

Abnormal discharge may be:
😧Green, gray, or frothy
💊Accompanied by itching, burning, or swelling
☑️ Strong-smelling or unusually heavy

These signs may indicate infections like candidiasis, bacterial vaginosis, or STIs and should prompt clinical evaluation..
