Today we had the privilege to visit H.E. Rt. Hon. The Late Raila Odinga, EGH grave. Although the mood was somber, our hearts warmed by the thought of how much he did for our country and the jokes he made while he was still alive.

The lion has returned to the mountain but his legacy will live on forever.

Rest In Eternal Peace BABA!!

It was a valuable engagement with Kenya Airways Cargo and MAPAKE as we discussed ways to enhance service delivery and strengthen collaboration, especially in the area of human remains repatriation. We truly appreciate the efforts being made toward improving efficiency, compliance, and professionalism in handling such sensitive services.

The discussions also highlighted the importance of continuous training and mental well-being which are key aspects that influence how we serve families with empathy and excellence. It’s encouraging to see both KQ Cargo and MAPAKE taking proactive steps that not only streamline repatriation processes but also acknowledge the human side of our work.

Such partnerships remind us that progress in this field comes from shared commitment, understanding, and collaboration built on compassion and dignity.

It was a day of joy and emotion as thousands of Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) alumni gathered across campuses to celebrate this year’s (2025) Alumni Day.

Held under the theme “Reconnect, Reflect, Reignite: Celebrating our Journey, Shaping our Future,” the event turned into a nationwide homecoming filled with nostalgia, mentorship, and acts of generosity.

At Nairobi Campus, alumni held interactive mentorship sessions encouraging Mortuary Science students to establish an active alumni chapter.

The day was wrapped up with a tree-planting (200 tree seedlings) donated by the area administration, represented by Kenyatta Golf Course Sub-Chief Ms. Salad Ibrahim, the ceremony symbolized growth and continuity,

Dr. Oluoch praised the initiative, noting that the alumni network has become a vital pillar for mentorship, scholarships, and institutional development.

This year’s Alumni Day proved that while facilities may change, the KMTC spirit endures, a lasting bond of service, gratitude, and shared purpose.

Petite Ng'anga and Roselyne Kanini Joel were part of celebrants in Nairobi Campus.

Today, Kenya has lost one of its most recognizable voices.

Raila Odinga spent decades fighting for democracy, multiparty politics, and Kenya where the people’s voice mattered more than power. He was never perfect - and history will judge both his dreams and his compromises.

But today, let us pause and feel what it means when a giant falls. When a possibility dies. What kind of Kenya will we now build - in memory of his struggle, or in spite of his mistakes?

Let his passing remind us it’s not about one man. It’s about us - our courage, our choices, our love for justice.

Rest in peace, Baba. May your flame continue to inspire our fire 🕊️ 🕯️

Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un.
