It is always a pleasure engaging with members to align on visions and strategy of mortuary service delivery.

Today we held a consultative session with the Central Region to review progress in;
1. Members mobilization
2. CME
3. 5th Annual Morticians and Scientific Conference and to share our plans for the last lap as we approach the end of the term .

As we finalize the remaining priorities, our focus remains having stronger systems, and improved outcomes for every region.

The Association appreciates the continued oversight and partnership from all members as we work together to deliver for our mandate.

Happy Mortician Recognition Day!

Engravings like this capture a scene that was once common in many homes. Death often occurred within the family residence, and when the undertakers arrived they stepped into rooms filled with grief, uncertainty, and quiet sorrow. Their responsibility was not only the practical care of the deceased, but also guiding families through the first moments after loss with dignity and steadiness.

While funeral service has evolved over time, the heart of the profession remains the same. Mortuary Practitioners continue to support families at one of the most difficult points in life, helping them navigate decisions, traditions, and remembrance with care and professionalism.

In 2023, the Association formally recognized March 11 as Mortician Recognition Day, establishing a day meant to acknowledge the dedication of mortuary practitioners and the important role they play within their communities. It serves as a reminder to recognize and appreciate those who quietly carry out this work while helping families through grief and loss.
