Today, PHOTC joins the world in marking World Day for Safety and Health at Work, recognizing the importance of safe and healthy workplaces in protecting workers, promoting wellbeing, and strengthening resilient health systems.

As a regulator committed to public and environmental health standards, PHOTC continues to support efforts that advance occupational safety and health, including strengthening professional practice, prevention measures and multi-sector collaboration.

The PHOTC Ag. CEO/Registrar Anthony Wainaina today participated in a consultative meeting led by the Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards, Mary Muthoni Muriuki, CBS, HSC, alongside development partners, civil society and community stakeholders, focused on strengthening Kenya’s public health system and advancing Universal Health Coverage.

The engagement underscored the critical role of partnerships, regulatory leadership and coordinated action in strengthening primary healthcare, disease prevention and health security. PHOTC reaffirmed its commitment to supporting effective regulation of the public health workforce and contributing to preparations toward KEPHIC 2026.

**Marking of PHOTC Professional Examinations – August 2025 Series**
The marking of the PHOTC Professional Examinations (August 2025 series) was held from 8th to 12th September 2025 at Murang'a University of Technology. This critical five-day exercise was organized by the PHOTC Secretariat, led by Mr. Peter Mwadziwe, and coordinated under the leadership of Dr. John Kariuki, Chair of the Training, Accreditation, and Research Committee. The activity was honored by the presence of the PHOTC Registrar, Mr. Anthony Wainaina.

The marking exercise plays a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity, fairness, and credibility of the professional certification process. It upholds the standards of the profession by guaranteeing that all candidates are assessed accurately and objectively. The expected outcome is the timely release of valid, reliable results that reflect candidates' competencies and readiness to serve in the healthcare profession, in line with PHOTC’s mandate to promote excellence and professionalism.
