🌍✨"If all you see is what you see, then you'll never see all you can see." Tony Evans

This is a powerful reminder of the limits we place on ourselves when we view life only through a single lens. It’s like living in a room with the curtains drawn, unaware of the beauty outside. 🪟🌅

When you remain stuck in a narrow perspective—whether shaped by your experiences, beliefs, or background—you close yourself off to the vast richness of knowledge, wisdom, and potential that exists beyond what you currently know. 🧠🔍

The world is filled with alternative realities, different ways of thinking, and new possibilities waiting to be discovered. 🌿💡 But if you never acknowledge that these exist, you’ll stay confined to your current reality, missing out on deeper learning and potentially transformative experiences. 🚪✨

Opening up to other perspectives allows us to grow, learn, and evolve. It’s about curiosity, humility, and the willingness to challenge the limits of your understanding.

So, the next time you’re faced with something unfamiliar, ask yourself: “What else is there to see?” 🔍🌈

Creating a Su***de-Preventive Culture in the Workplace
One of the most impactful steps any organization can take is to create a su***de-preventive culture where mental health is prioritized, and employees feel safe to seek help without fear of stigma.
✅ Here’s how to start:

Foster open conversations: Normalize talking about mental health in team meetings, leadership training, and one-on-one check-ins.

Train leaders to recognize signs of mental health struggles early and how to intervene with care and compassion. 💙

Provide accessible resources: Ensure employees have easy access to mental health support services, whether through HR, counseling, or regular workshops.

Taking these steps not only creates a healthy work culture, but it also saves lives. 🌟

🟢 September is Su***de Prevention Month, and this year’s theme is Changing the Narrative. It’s time to break the silence and rethink how we approach su***de and mental health in the workplace. 💬 By addressing these issues head-on, we can create a supportive environment that could save lives. 🚨

🔗 Open communication is the first step toward creating a mentally healthy workplace. Whether you’re a CEO or just starting your career, the ability to speak freely about mental health could save a life.

📢 Why does it matter? When we remove the stigma and encourage honest conversations, we empower everyone to seek help before it’s too late. A supportive environment begins with open dialogue. 💬

💡 How YOU can make a difference:

Leaders: Set the tone! Your openness encourages others to speak up.
Managers: Actively listen and show empathy—your team is watching.
Employees: Your voice matters too. Speaking out can lead to positive changes for you and your colleagues.
👥 Remember, we’re all responsible for each other's well-being. Let’s start by talking. 🌟

📢 Call to action: Have a conversation with your team or colleagues today. It might be the conversation that saves a life.

🌟 Clarify Your "Here" and "There" 🌟

Where are you right now? 🌍 Mentally, physically, career-wise, financially, socially – this is your "here." Be honest as you reflect. 🧘‍♂️🧘‍♀️ Understanding where you are in life is crucial for personal growth.

Now, visualize your "there." What's your dream or vision for these aspects of your life? 🌠 The gap between your "here" and "there" represents the work you need to do to achieve your life goals. And trust me, you have everything within you to bridge that gap. 💪✨

Start mapping out your "here" and "there," and let's bridge that gap together! 🚀

Climb mountains, not to show others how high you are, but to enjoy the view at the top.

🏔️ While the thought 'I'll show them I can do it' can propel you to new heights, it's the view from the top that makes it all worth it.

🌟 As you reflect on your journey, you'll see how each struggle prepared you for your rightful place. Remember, life is lived forward but understood backward. At the mountaintop, your struggles will make sense—they helped you shed deadweight and embrace qualities that will help you sustain your win.

Keep climbing; the view is better at the top! 🌄✨

🌟 Always Operate from a Position of Capacity 🌟

Whenever I feel overwhelmed by the challenges I am facing, I call my mom—she's my 911. She helps me reframe my perspective. After all the ranting, she always asks me one question: "What is in your hand?"

When faced with many challenges, it's easy to get stuck on the resources we don't have. This is where disempowerment, drain, and overwhelm come from. You have a choice: view yourself as someone with vulnerabilities and weaknesses, or identify your strengths, abilities, interests, and values. The latter approach empowers you by shifting your focus from lack to abundance.

Even if you cannot see beyond the lack, remember: You are alive! That is power. Start from that and build up as you go along. You'll soon realize that you have so much internal capacity to work with that the lack fades away and is replaced by abundance.

What do you have in your hands to tackle the situation at hand? This is your position of power.

May is Month with a focus on Children’s Mental Health. Mental health includes our emotional, psychological and social well-being, and it can affect how we think, feel and act. Our mental health can dictate how we respond to stress, make choices and decisions, and interact with our loved ones and community.

Balanced mental health is essential to healthy development at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood. Healthy habits for children's mental well-being include healthy sleep patterns, healthy eating habits, limited screen time and regular exercise, to name a few. A consistent, predictable and realistic schedule for children also promotes optimal mental health.

Ever heard the story of Malika Chad? She was a teacher in a village in Calcutta. What made her famous is that she was ever positive, she uplifted, she nurtured, despite any challenge anyone had, she chose to see the positive and taught her students the same.

One day the local school burned down. Oooh the villagers moaned about it, the only hope for the future of their children snatched from under their feet and all.

Malika watched and let them moan for a bit (because it is also very necessary to acknowledge the negative things that happen). Then one day she called the village to order. She pointed out the obvious; the buildings that were the school really were a sight for sore eyes, with holes in the walls and leaking roofs, overfilled toilets. She then gave them a sobering thought, that maybe the fire came to give them an opportunity to come together as a community and build a new and better building....

You can read more on Malika Chand in The Monk Who Sold his Ferrari by Robin Sharma (hopefully you get inspired to read the whole book).... However, my point is, bad things do happen. And when they do, we have a choice to either curl up in a corner and cry about it and complain and be the victim of our circumstances. Or we can give our circumstances some perspective and rise above it all.

I believe that it is important to acknowledge and feel the negative emotions that come with going through rough times. It is vital that we don't bottle our emotions. But after that, shake off the dust, dry the tears and keep stepping. Be the hero/heroine in your story and rise above your storm.

Tag a friend who needs to be reminded of this.

Tuesday's topic: causes of mental illness.

As mental health awareness month continues, we are exploring different aspects of mental health, and today we are exploring causes of mental illness. We usually look at causes in terms of nature versus nurture.

Just as people inherit physical traits like height, complexion and physical illness, psychological characteristics such as behavioral tendencies, personality attributes, and mental abilities are also “wired in” before we are even born. Mental conditions that are likely to be inherited are developmental disorders, schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder, amongst others.

The nurture part looks to events and experiences that an individual goes through in the course of their life, all the way from conception. These include, and are not limited to, our early childhood experiences, how we were raised, our social relationships, and our surrounding culture.

It isn't that whether nature has more influence than nurture, or the other way round. Truth is, there is always going to be a genetic factor that gives you the increased risk of developing mental illness. However, it all depends on what happens in a person's lifetime.
..and that concludes our lesson for today. I hope that this sheds some light and gives you food for thought.

Comment below your thoughts on nature versus nurture.

Look at you :-) still standing, after all you've been through. You have chosen to rise above the "victim" status. Some days are harder than others, but you are still here making it work.

It's Motivation Monday and I want to pass by and remind you to straighten your crown and keep stepping, like the royalty you are. In case you are having a bad day, going through a rough patch, it's ok. Times may be tough but you did not come this far just to come this far.

Be the hero in your story. Only you know exactly where and how it hurts. And only you know what you need to get to where you want to go and how to stop the pain. So fix your crown, you've got this. You do. I know there is a still voice somewhere way back in the back of your mind nudging you forward. Listen to that voice and ignite that hope inside of you. You've got this!!

Share this with someone who needs here this, spread some hope...And if you need help with figuring it out, don't hesitate to reach out.

Cheers
