Leadership is not about titles, power, or personal gain. It is about sacrifice, courage, and standing with the people even when it is not easy. I chose to lead the people of Bukhayo West because I believe our community deserves honest leadership, real development, and a voice that will never be silenced. I am not here for politics as usual — I am here to serve, to fight for our future, and to ensure the people of Bukhayo West are respected, heard, and empowered.

I want to be clear about my position. I do not identify strictly as a Muslim or a Christian. I am a human being, committed to serving God—Allah—in the way I understand and feel called to, at the time and in the manner I choose.

I believe it is unnecessary to argue over religious labels or claim certainty about tomorrow or even about heaven, because no one truly knows. What matters now is focus, responsibility, and how we live.

Muslims worship through the teachings of Muhammad, and Christians worship through Jesus Christ—both of whom were human beings. None of us witnessed them personally, and what we know about them comes from scriptures: verses, interpretations, and different names recorded in the Quran and the Bible.

The bigger agenda is humanity—how we treat one another, how we serve, and how we leave the world better than we found it.

Therefore, if you choose to believe in a religion, I respect that—but please keep your old traditions to yourself and allow me the same freedom to live by my convictions.

Memo

I am anchored on the will of the people and accountable only to the voice from the ground. At this moment, I remain non-partisan by conviction, because leadership must serve wananchi, not party convenience. While I explored vying under United Democratic Alliance, the people of Bukhayo West Ward will ultimately determine the final direction.

Make no mistake—the game is very much on. Grassroots alignment is active, momentum is building, and the party flag we shall carry will be announced in due course.

Gidi AbdulRashid is ready for change.
