In conjunction with other key health stakeholders, Ricytec Medpharma is planning a free health camp. In the picture is Chemase medical centre during a previous health camp they held, where they were able to screen over 100 community members for diabetes, HIV, and hypertension.

This really shows how important this initiative is to the community and to Kenyans as a whole. The work done by Chemase has highlighted the need for us to hold a free health camp in partnership with other key stakeholders. Prepare to come for a free check-up; location details will be provided.

We invite interested parties or sponsors to collaborate with us. Keep following us to stay updated.

Antibiotic Resistance: What You Need to Know

Antibiotic resistance is a growing global health concern that affects us all. As bacteria evolve to withstand the effects of antibiotics, these medicines become less effective in treating infections. Let’s break down what antibiotic resistance is, why it’s a problem, and what we can do to slow it down.

What is antibiotic resistance?

Antibiotic resistance occurs when bacteria change in response to the use of antibiotics. These changes make the bacteria resistant to the drugs designed to kill them, allowing them to survive and multiply. This resistance can lead to infections that are difficult or impossible to treat, increasing the risk of severe illness and death.

Why is antibiotic resistance a problem?

Antibiotic resistance is a major public health issue for several reasons:

- Increased risk of infections: Resistant bacteria can cause infections that are harder to treat, leading to longer hospital stays, higher medical costs, and increased mortality.
- Spread of resistance: Resistant bacteria can spread from person to person, making it harder to control outbreaks.
- Limited treatment options: As bacteria become resistant to more antibiotics, doctors have fewer options to treat infections effectively.

Causes of antibiotic resistance

Several factors contribute to the development and spread of antibiotic resistance:

- Overuse and misuse of antibiotics: Taking antibiotics when they're not needed or not completing the full course can accelerate resistance.
- Poor infection control: Inadequate hygiene and infection control practices in healthcare settings can spread resistant bacteria.
- Agricultural use of antibiotics: The use of antibiotics in agriculture can contribute to the development of resistant bacteria that can be transmitted to humans.

What can we do to slow antibiotic resistance?

To combat antibiotic resistance, we need a multi-faceted approach:

- Use antibiotics wisely: ...Continuation in the comments

PenicillinG Ricytec Medpharma

β˜† Uses
● Penicillin G is used to treat bacterial infections.
● It is effective in treating syphilis.
● It is also used for the prevention of rheumatic fever.
● Additionally, it helps prevent recurrence of rheumatic fever.
● How Penicillin G Works
● Penicillin G is an antibiotic.
● It kills bacteria by preventing the formation of their protective cell wall, which is essential for their survival.
● Without this wall, bacteria are unable to live and multiply, helping clear the infection.

β˜† Common Side Effects of Penicillin G
● Pain, swelling, or redness at the injection site
● Nausea or vomiting
● Diarrhea
● Rash or skin irritation
● Itching
● Headache
● Fever
● Allergic reactions (mild forms like rash or itching)

β˜† Advice for Penicillin G
● You have been prescribed Penicillin G for the treatment of bacterial infections.
● It is administered by injection into a vein or muscle, or through a drip into a vein.
● Complete the full course of treatment, even if you start feeling better.
● Stopping the medicine early may cause the infection to return and become harder to treat.
● Diarrhea may occur as a side effect, but it usually stops when the course is finished.
● Inform your doctor if diarrhea persists or if you notice blood in your stools.
● Seek medical attention immediately if you experience:
β€’ Itchy rash
β€’ Swelling of the face, throat, or tongue
β€’ Breathing difficulties

β˜† What important things should I tell my doctor before starting Penicillin G?
● Tell your doctor if you have ever had an allergic reaction to Penicillin G or any similar medicine.

● Mention if you have asthma or any breathing problems.
● Let your doctor know if you have a history of heart disease.
● Inform your doctor if you have kidney disease or any kidney-related issues.
● Share a list of all medications you are currently taking, including prescription, over-the-counter, and herbal products.
● If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before taking Penicillin G.

β˜† How is Penicillin G supposed to be given safely?
● Penicillin G is given by deep intramuscular injection into the buttock or hip muscle.
● It must be injected slowly and deeply into the muscle.
● Do not inject Penicillin G near or into an artery, vein, or nerve, as it can cause serious side effects.

β˜† The Penicillin G solution looks offβ€”can I still use it?
● No, do not use Penicillin G if the solution is discolored or contains particles.
● A discolored solution may be contaminated, less effective, and may cause additional side effects.
● It is safer to discard the vial and use a new one.

β˜† I’m feeling betterβ€”can I stop taking Penicillin G now?
● No, complete the full course of Penicillin G as prescribed by your doctor.
● Even if you feel better, the infection may still be present.
● Stopping early can lead to drug-resistant infection.
● After the treatment, your doctor may recommend tests to ensure the infection is fully cleared.

β˜† Can Penicillin G help me get over the flu?
● No, Penicillin G does not treat viral infections such as the flu or the common cold.
● It is only effective against bacterial infections.

β˜† Is it possible to have an allergic reaction to Penicillin G?
● Yes, Penicillin G can cause an allergic reaction, although it is rare.
● Seek emergency medical help if you notice:

Pelvic Inflammatory Disease : Ricytec Medpharma

Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) is an infection of the female reproductive organs, most commonly affecting the uterus, fallopian tubes, and ovaries. It's often caused by s*xually transmitted infections (STIs) like chlamydia and gonorrhea, but bacteria from the va**na can also be the culprit.

Symptoms:

1. Pelvic pain: This is the most common symptom, often described as a dull ache or sharp cramps in the lower abdomen.

2. Abnormal va**nal bleeding: This can include heavier or irregular periods, spotting between periods, or bleeding after s*x.

3. Painful s*x: In*******se may be uncomfortable or even painful.

4. Fever and chills: These can indicate a more serious infection.

5. Other symptoms: Nausea, vomiting, fatigue, and difficulty urinating can also occur.

Causes:

1. Sexually transmitted infections (STIs): Chlamydia and gonorrhea are the most common culprits, but other STIs can also increase the risk of PID.

2. Bacterial vaginosis: This is an overgrowth of "bad" bacteria in the va**na, which can increase the risk of bacteria traveling to the upper reproductive organs.

3. Pelvic procedures: Certain procedures like IUD insertion or endometrial ablation can increase the risk of PID, although the risk is low.

Complications:

1. Infertility: PID can damage the fallopian tubes, making it difficult for eggs to travel to the uterus and for s***m to reach the egg.

2. Ectopic pregnancy: If a fertilized egg implants outside the uterus, usually in a fallopian tube, it can be a life-threatening condition.

3. Chronic pelvic pain: PID can cause long-term pain and discomfort.

Diagnosis:

1. Pelvic exam: Your doctor will feel for any tenderness or abnormalities in your pelvic organs.

2. Swabs: Samples may be taken from your cervix and va**na to test for STIs and other bacteria.

3. Ultrasound: This can help look for signs of inflammation or fluid in the pelvis.

4. Laparoscopy: In some cases, this surgical procedure may be ......(Continuation in the comments)
