The USAID Enhancing Quality of Healthcare Activity II (USAID-EQHA II) is a 5-year USAID-funded project working with Ministry of Health to strengthen health system (2023-2028). USAID Enhancing Quality of Healthcare Activity II (USAID-EQHA II) is a five-year project (October 23, 2023–October 22, 2028) that aims to further improve and sustain service quality by strengthening a harmonized Cambodian high quality health system that will lead to better health outcomes for all Cambodians. The USAID-EQHA II project, led by FHI 360 and partnered with KHANA, Kawsang, ThinkWell, and Data Elevates, aims to improve service quality. It aligns with the Ministry of Health’s Fourth Health Strategic Plan (2023-2033) and USAID’s Vision for Health System Strengthening 2030. Funded by USAID, the project will build on the achievements of the Royal Government of Cambodia and its partners to enhance evidence-based policies, guidelines, and strategies for efficient health systems. It will also increase the capacity of both public and private sectors to implement, monitor, and evaluate quality assurance based on national standards, and strengthen subnational health systems’ ability to provide quality services. The USAID-EQHA II approach combines needs-based technical assistance with provincial-level direct implementation. This includes improving health services and patient outcomes through quality improvement approaches such as accreditation and collaborative learning models for health facilities nationwide and in seven provinces, enhancing National Quality Enhancement Monitoring-2 processes in public health facilities, meeting minimum licensing standards in private health facilities, and strengthening healthcare workers’ licensing/relicensing systems.
