💗 FROM DESPAIR TO MIRACLE: ELDERLY WOMAN NEARLY 80 REVIVES AFTER 167 DAYS THANKS TO LOVE AND CARE AT FV
Once “sent home” by her local hospital with no hope left, 77-year-old Cambodian woman Mrs H.S. was brought to FV as her family’s final attempt. When admitted, she was almost immobile, her body covered in severe pressure sores, some so deep that bone was exposed.
From that moment, her journey of recovery began, not only through the expertise of Dr Truong Hoang Vinh Khiem of FV’s Orthopaedics & Trauma Department and the use of advanced medical techniques, but also thanks to the tireless, devoted care of FV’s doctors and nurses.
Every day, the nurses stayed by her side around the clock: cleaning wounds, changing dressings, feeding her, talking to her and comforting her through the restlessness of dementia (Alzheimer’s). They patiently repositioned her, while FV’s physiotherapists trained her with small movements to gradually restore her functions.
💗 Especially touching, on her birthday FV’s nursing team organised a warm celebration, helping her feel loved as if she were in her own home.
After 167 days of perseverance, Mrs S. was able to stand, walk, smile and say a cheerful “Goodbye” in the emotional embrace of FV’s medical team before returning home to Cambodia.
💗 For her family, FV was not just a hospital but a second home, where devoted caregivers quietly stood by, showering her with love and compassion throughout her healing journey.
