Life Guide Organization (LGO) is a registered Non Government Organisation (NGO) that provides educational and vocational opportunities to disadvantaged children and young adults in the Kro Bei Riel Community, Siem Reap, city /province Cambodia. Our Vision -

r generations. Our Mission -
To create a capable and self-sufficient community by:
• Providing free quality educational and vocational opportunities to children and youth in rural communities
• Empowering children and young adults to take responsibility for their and their communities future
• Supporting and strengthening children and their families
• Promoting Equality and Unity within the community
• Assisting communities in working towards self-sufficiency and sustainability, working towards breaking free from the cycle of poverty

LGO works through an empowerment model at the grassroots level, which maintains all paid employees, are native Cambodians. LGO relies solely on funding and sponsorship from generous international contributors from all over the world and ensures that 100% of the funding goes directly into the LGO, its projects and the Kro Bei Riel Community. The majority of our funds have come from past and present volunteers fundraising efforts and also from successful funding proposals to international grant making organisations. LGO offers mainstream education aswell as tuition in subjects which are more applicable to children living in rural Cambodia, providing them transferable skills which they cannot only use within the village but that will assist them in furthering their job prospects in town or provide the opportunity to go onto higher education if they choose. Currently LGO provides Kindergarten Classes, English classes, Art & Crafts classes, Sports Education, Organic Farming, Social Work and Hospitality classes. Aswell as education on hygiene, nutrition and environmental issues. We also provide scholarships for higher education. Educational and vocational classes operate from Monday through to Friday from 7am until 7pm. On Sundays our Social Work and Community work projects are undertaken by staff and trainees. The work of LGO is not just confined to within the Centre walls. The LGO are leaders in providing sustainable community development. This includes addressing issues in the community through our Social Work project, such as - lack of education, clean water and health care. Poverty, environmental concerns, social issues and unemployment. Our aim is to continually explore ways to improve the quality of life and prosperity of the Kro Bei Riel residents.

Dear SHCC volunteers and supporters.
We wish to share some very sad news with you. One of our beloved SHCC family members Sek Phal’s mother has been in a terrible accident and has been left with a severe head injury. She is currently in hospital in Battambong Province, receiving treatment. As you know medical services in Cambodia are basic and for the severity of the injuries she has sustained, the treatment may not be sufficient. We are seeking financial assistance from anyone that can contribute to help us ensure Phal’s mother receives the best possible care and has the best chance at recovery. You will all know Phal - he has been a student at SHCC since 2007 when we opened and was also one of the YDC leaders and a youth volunteer. He is living at SHCC and has always been involved in every single project we offered, always there to lend a hand with whatever he could. With SHCC’s support Phal was able to continue his studies and graduated from high school and continued studying at the Build Bright University in Siem Reap. He lives and volunteers at SHCC and when he finishes university he wants to build a house for his mother. He says he will then continue his life, still doing volunteer work whenever he can. But now his mother very ill and he does not have any money because he spent most of his time at SHCC. He has a HUGE heart and is one of our most promising students and has been an integral part of the YDC programme and our SHCC family. We are devastated to be sharing this news and would appreciate it greatly if you could share this with anyone that knows Phal and that may be interested in helping us provide the best possible care for Phal’s mother and support to his family.
