Today, March 23, 2026, on the occasion of World Meteorological Day, we are proud to announce the official launch of www.caribbean-risks.org, a brand-new regional portal dedicated to helping you better understand and prepare for natural hazards in our islands.

In the Caribbean, risks like hurricanes, floods, and earthquakes are a part of our daily reality. But being prepared means we don't have to suffer from them. This new "one-stop shop" provides clear, reliable information tailored specifically to our regional context.

What can you find on the portal? 💻

✔️Educational explanations about the different risks we face.

✔️Practical advice on what to do before, during, and after a crisis to protect your family.

✔️Engaging videos and visual content to make learning about safety easy.

✔️Direct links to official sources and specialized organizations.

This initiative is a collaborative effort between PIRAC-French Red Cross, CDEMA, and the OECS. Together, we are working to strengthen resilience and regional solidarity.

On Sunday, January 11th, the St. Kitts and Nevis Red Cross Society successfully hosted a Leadership Workshop for members of the Governing Board and Branch Executive Committees.

The workshop provided a valuable space for reflection, learning, and collaboration, focusing on strengthening leadership, governance, and strategic direction within the Society. Participants engaged in meaningful discussions aimed at enhancing effectiveness, accountability, and unity across both branches.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) for their support in making this workshop possible, and to all participants for their active engagement and commitment to strengthening the Red Cross mission in St. Kitts and Nevis.

Together, we continue to build strong leadership for stronger communities ❤️

The St. Kitts and Nevis Red Cross Society is proud to announce the successful completion of our First Aid Instructors Training, marking an important milestone in strengthening first aid capacity across our communities.

This training has equipped a new cohort of instructors with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to deliver high-quality First Aid, CPR, and AED training throughout St. Kitts and Nevis, helping to build safer, more resilient communities.

We extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to PIRAC (French Red Cross – Regional Intervention Platform for the Americas and the Caribbean) and the Global First Aid Reference Centre (GFARC) for their invaluable technical support, guidance, and continued partnership in advancing first aid education in the region.

👏 Congratulations to the facilitators and all participants on this achievement, and thank you for your commitment to saving lives!

From October 6th to December 12th, the Nevis Disaster Management Department (NDMD), in collaboration with the St. Kitts and Nevis Red Cross Society and the St. Kitts and Nevis Fire and Rescue Services, successfully delivered Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training across all five parishes in Nevis.
This intensive programme culminated on December 12th with island-wide simulation exercises, allowing participants to apply their skills in realistic emergency scenarios and strengthen coordination among response agencies.

We are proud to share that:
42 CERT volunteers received First Aid training, enhancing community-level preparedness and response capacity across Nevis.

These trained volunteers are now better equipped to support their communities during emergencies, disasters, and crises, demonstrating the power of preparedness, teamwork, and collaboration.

We extend sincere thanks to all partners, facilitators, and participants who contributed to the success of this initiative and to building safer, more resilient communities.

Happy Independence Day, Saint Kitts and Nevis

Today, as we celebrate a journey of resilience, unity, and pride. Let’s honour our past and keep striving for perpetual progress – a sustainable future in view: Independence 42.

We must

Humanitarians do their part. They help the wounded. They respond to emergencies. They support their neighbours. They save lives. When they are attacked or killed, entire communities lose access to care and hope.

Protecting humanitarian workers everywhere means protecting entire communities.

Those who are helping others must never be targeted. They should always be able to return safely to their families. Humanitarians must be protected.

We must .
