The St. Kitts School Counsellors Association extends our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and school community of Janelika Romney, whose life was tragically cut short.

As counsellors, we are heartbroken by this devastating loss. Janelika was more than a name in the headlines; she was a daughter, a friend, a student with hopes, dreams, and a future. Her passing is a painful reminder of how vulnerable our young people can be, and how vital it is for us to continue supporting their emotional, social, psychological and physical safety.

We stand in solidarity with all those mourning Janelika’s loss. Let us honour her memory by recommitting ourselves to creating safe, nurturing environments where every child feels protected, heard, and valued.

May her soul rest in eternal peace. 🕊️

Good morning, counselors. I came across this photo and couldn't help but see how applicable it is to us and our job. This message I got from it is profound. As counselors, the journey of helping others can feel overwhelming, much like the towering structure in the image. However, true impact comes from focusing on what you can do today, one step, one conversation, one breakthrough at a time. Every small effort contributes to the larger goal of healing and transformation. Trust that each moment of guidance, encouragement, and support is a brick laid in the foundation of someone’s growth. Stay faithful in the little steps, and over time, you will see the incredible structure that patience and dedication build.

🌟 Wonderful news! The St. Kitts School Counsellors Association (SKSCA) joined forces with AVEC's Cosmetology Department to spread love and appreciation during the Month of the Elderly. 🌼

💅 Our guests of honour were pampered with pedicures, manicures, and beautiful hairstyles, thanks to Ms. Petra Newton and her talented trainees. Their exceptional work made these ladies feel truly special, and we're incredibly grateful for their efforts.

🍽️ Additionally, the ladies enjoyed a delightful spread of refreshments from Hazel Jeffers Blessed Hands Kitchen, adding to the joyous atmosphere of the event. 🍰
