We’d like to congratulate Lake Health and Wellbeing's very own Jay Robinson, our Project Assistant, for hosting a really thoughtful and well-organised capacity-building session for our new practicum students.

Over the next few months, this new cohort will be working with us on a range of projects — from writing policy briefs and op-eds to planning webinars and supporting our ongoing initiatives. We’re excited to have them onboard and to help them grow in this space.

A special thank-you to Jay for leading the session and even using our mental health project, Routes to Resilience, as a project management case study. We truly appreciate the care and preparation that went into making the session a success. 💙

We had a great project update meeting today with our colleagues from the TaiwanICDF! 🇹🇼🤝

We’re partnering on a mental health awareness project focused on supporting young people and their parents. Today’s session focused on reviewing materials, refining our approach, and planning the next steps.

It has truly been a pleasure working with their team, and we extend a special thank you to Mrs Ivy Shih, Project Manager for the Mental Health Service System Enhancement Project in St. Kitts and Nevis, for leading this meaningful and much-needed initiative.

We look forward to continuing this important work. 💙

It was a pleasure attending the Ministry of Health's Cervical Cancer Elimination Forum, joining fellow stakeholders in offering input to help shape the Ministry's strategy.

Cervical cancer is one of the most preventable and treatable cancers. With effective policies, education and awareness, as well as access to screening, vaccination, treatment and support, we have a real opportunity to make a meaningful difference and improve the health and wellbeing of women across St. Kitts and Nevis.

A big thank you to the Ministry of Health for inviting us to be part of this important discussion.

We'd like to thank everyone who stopped by our booth, asked questions, shared stories, or just came to say hi — we really appreciated it. And a massive thank-you to National Caribbean Insurance for having us.

Here’s a little highlight from the day.

Today is World Diabetes Day, and in recognition of this day, we stand together to raise awareness about diabetes, a disease affecting over 400 million people worldwide. Whether it's Type 1, Type 2, or prediabetes, understanding the different types and their risks is crucial in the fight against this growing health concern. Diabetes can lead to serious complications like nerve damage, cardiovascular disease, and even stroke — but with proper care, we can manage it and reduce these risks.

Read on to learn more about diabetes, how it's managed, and most importantly, how you can prevent it!

A big thank you to the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College (CFBC) for inviting us to take part in their Health Fair.

We really enjoyed the day. It was so nice speaking with staff, students, and guests who stopped by our information table.

A special thank you also goes out to our Youth Health Advocate and Executive Member of the St. Kitts-Nevis Association of Persons with Disabilities, Crannie Cranston, for assisting us on the day. Your support was much appreciated. 🙌🏽

Recently, we’ve seen several videos circulating of individuals experiencing public mental breakdowns. While the internet reacts with laughter, shock or judgment, what we’re really witnessing are moments of distress that deserve care, not criticism.

Many may be quietly suffering and we're here to remind you that mental health struggles don’t always look quiet or composed. Sometimes, they look like confusion, tears, shouting or withdrawal. These are real human responses to overwhelming pain.

At The Respite, we want to remind everyone that mental breakdowns are not entertainment, they are cries for help.

If you ever find yourself in a moment that feels unbearable or you see someone who is struggling, remember: compassion is the first step toward healing.

If you or someone you know need someone to talk to, reach out to us at The Respite.

We’re here to listen, to understand and to help you find your calm again.

Healing starts with understanding.

At The Respite, we handle every situation with Precision in Practice and Compassion in Care.
