Lactic acid is mainly produced in muscle cells and red blood cells. It forms when the body breaks down carbohydrates to use for energy when oxygen levels are low.

Now the problem my research has shown is that lactic acid which must be broken down before reaching the lungs can be an issue in diabetes

This is done by the catalytic action of sodium phosphate in the blood. Any deficiency of sodium phosphate will cause a disturbance
in the water in the system by allowing an excess of lactic
acid to accumulate. Nature, in her effort to eliminate the
water, produces the symptoms called diabetes.

But while a lack of sodium phosphate is the principal
cause of diabetes, the chief remedy is another of sodium product,
because it regulates the supply of water in the blood. This Sodium
abundant in Dandelion also gives off oxygen, so necessary for the
process of the decomposition of sugar, and thereby prevents
its reaching the kidneys as sugar, and also thins to its normal
consistency bile that has become inspissated from a lack
of sodium phosphate.

If a case of diabetes has advanced to any considerable
degree, the kidneys will have become inflamed by the lactic
acid and sugar that passes through them. This injury to
the tissue of the kidneys calls upon the red corpuscles of the
blood for iron phosphate, which will in most cases cause a
deficiency in that inorganic salt. Nature, in her efforts to
supply iron, will probably draw on the nerve-fluid, potassium
substrate, which will be too rapidly consumed, and the
patient suffers from nervous prostration.

The treatment, therefore, for diabetes mellitus is: The three main phosphates the body utilizes, and the sulphate mentioned above
of sodium. For the great functional disturbance of nerve
centers caused by the demand made on the blood we utilize a special potassium which when becomes lack in the blood produces sleeplessness and voracious a hunger. This Potassium indeed is the infallible remedy. It establishes normal functional action of the medulla oblongata and pneumogastric nerve and the pancreatic issues once thought disappears
