Day1. Ped-O-Pull

Joseph Pilates created the Ped-o-Pull specifically for an opera singer who came to him seeking improved breath control and efficiency while singing. As Pilates teachers we stress the importance of breath as a critical component of optimal health.
The Ped-O-Pull builds the supporting spinal muscles, creating space between each vertebra and therefore promotes axial elongation.
The Ped-o-Pull is an excellent Pilates apparatus for those with a solid understanding of healthy Pilates technique while looking to improve breath expansion, balance and core stability in a functional standing position.
This classic, space-saving apparatus is neglected and is probably the last piece of equipment that a Pilates teacher buys.
In this workshop, students will learn many more exercises than the ones that currently exist in the classical system.
Sonje Mayo has created a challenging 55 minute workout on the Ped-o-Pull, based on the original genius of Joe.
Day1. The Value of Arm Chair

The Arm/Baby Chair is probably the most neglected piece of Pilates equipment.
Contrary to belief, it is not only an ‘arm’ workout but it challenges the neck, trunk, pelvic stability and even the legs.
This workshop will look at the many exercises that Joe and Romana created on the Arm Chair.
Students will learn to design a holistic workout with safe progressions.
As with the Wunda Chair, mounting and dismounting the Arm Chair correctly provide the mental and physical preparation for the exercises.
Day1. A New Look at the High Chair

The HIGH CHAIR (HC) is one of the most under used pieces of apparatus that Joe created. In the past it has been limited to a few exercises only, mainly dealing with “areas of opportunity”
This workshop will focus on how to transfer many of the exercises from the Wunda Chair to the HIGH CHAIR.
On completion of this workshop teachers will be able to create a 55-minute workout on the HC, which will utilize the HC to a greater degree and bring a new dimension to the Pilates practice.
