Yoga with Petra in Daejeon

Yoga with Petra in Daejeon Breathe, Move, Connect Yoga classes in English in Daejeon, South Korea.

In her classes, Petra applies the asana (pose) sequence following the more flowing Vinyasa-style of yoga, while honouring the wisdom from Sivananda School which helps us to turn inwards through holding the asanas for longer. Each class consists of Sun Salutations, various asanas and Shavasana, a final relaxation which allows the body a chance to recuperate and helps you leave the class feeling light and energised. Petra has been trained in Sivananda-style in India, and has a 500-hour Yoga Alliance teacher certificate. Since certification in 2008, she has continued to deepen her understanding through visits to India and by participating in workshops by renowned teachers such as Mark Darby (Ashtanga yoga), Tiffany Cruikshank (Vinyasa Flow) John Friend (Anusara Yoga) and Amy Ippoliti (Hatha Yoga).

Journey through the body, straight to our core centre. The core is so much more than six pack abs and crunches; it is a connecting force that helps us to move in a healthy and supported way, both on and off the mat.

The KAIST cats are starting their yoga again tomorrow, September 17th at 6:30 - 8 pm!

Join us for an exploration of how the different parts of our body move, connect, and feel in our yoga practice. In this 9-class autumn series each class has a familiar Vinayasa (flow) and builds upon the previous classes while focusing on a different body part in order to develop a deeper understanding of our body.

This week we are going to add Three Legged Dog to our flow.
When lifting the back leg up, try to square the hips, push the standing leg hip back, and keep the shoulders even.
Avoid lifting the hip of the lifted leg; this may feel like you are getting a deeper pose, but you risk the shoulders coming out of alignment.
Focus less on how high your leg rises and more on the sensations in the hamstring of the standing leg.
