WKUH Earns Top Rating in Korea’s First National Imaging Appropriateness Evaluation.
Wonkwang University Hospital (WKUH) has received a Grade 1 rating in the 1st National Imaging Appropriateness Evaluation, conducted by the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service (HIRA) in 2025.
The evaluation assessed a wide range of performance metrics, including:
-Pre-scan patient assessments for contrast-enhanced and MRI procedures
-Use of radiation dose-reduction protocols
-PET scan interpretations by board-certified nuclear medicine specialists
-Safe administration of radiopharmaceuticals within recommended limits
WKUH met or exceeded standards in all 14 evaluation indicators, underscoring its commitment to safe and high-quality diagnostic imaging.
“As the use of medical radiation continues to grow, our focus remains on patient safety, minimizing exposure risks, and improving service quality,” said Dr. Seo Geum-seok, Chief Medical Officer.
This recognition reaffirms WKUH’s leadership in delivering advanced, patient-centered diagnostic imaging services.
